Today in this great country we made History as the nations first black president was sworn into the Oval Office. We got to watch it at work and the Parade was on when I came home. OUR OWN UNION HIGH JRROTC was AWESOME. ( Norm thought it was supposed to be teh band) oh well.
Sapulpas Band played in President Regans inauguration in 1982 I think. ( I graduated from there in 1990)
The parade as a whole was awesome and I have to admit I got a little teary eyed watching the Inauguration speech.
The swearing in is always an incredibly dignified and impressive ceremony. I think it was a very nice speech, at least what I saw of it. I didn't get to watch most of the parade, but it was pretty cool. It's great to see the awesome show of support for this historic moment.
Let's hope that support lasts as the reality of dealing with the woes of the country set in.

And after seeing several Inaugural Ball appearances, I bet when this night is over the last song the Obamas will want to hear for a while is "At Last".

I only caught a glimpse of them on tv walking hand in hand down Penn Ave. It looked cold. I woulda liked to have seen the whole thing, but I was busy workin two jobs. And glad to be doing so.

And our President can dance!!! We have a President that can boogie down. I saw a bit on him dancing to a song at the Youth Ball, and he could really shake it down.
