Death of the Mall

Jeez, its actually kinda fun to go shopping now that our economy is collapsing. On Saturday, I went to the mall- one of the things I needed was a new pair of gloves. At JC Penny, I saw a pair of leather thinsulate gloves that were originally priced at $45. They were knocked down to $19.99. On top of that, they were 50% off that price, so I got these really cool leather gloves for $10.

50-70% off signs on stuff all over the mall....

I usually hate shopping. But if you are one of the fortunate ones to (still) have a job, nows really the time to go shopping.

ya thats just it too. I would never EVER spend $45 on gloves. But I could scrap together $10 for $45 gloves. I had only wanted to initially spend $5 on some cheap gloves...

You got a deal and everyone knows that is the best way to go shopping. nod.gif Now instead of your $5 gloves falling apart next winter, these should last you a few years. I have been doing well not to buy anything on the credit card since right after Christmas. Well, my gas purchases go on a card. But other than that, I have been trying not to purchase anything. I made it through January but went out on Saturday looking for some new work clothes. I need to replace a few pairs of work pants. Plus, I had a giftcard. Of course I spent more than I wanted or needed to, but came home with two pair of pants and five or six tops for around $80-90.

Walgreens has some great Thinsulate gloves for $3.99. Not leather, but well made and very warm. I bought two pair at the start of winter.

My Mom went to Boston Store this weekend and paid $35 total for two sweaters normally marked $118 each. She was all excited, but I'll tell you, I think you'd have to be an idiot to pay anywhere near $118 for them. They were just regular material, nothing special, nothing you could find at Target for probably $20 to $30 each.

That's why I don't like Boston Store (sorry Murscclub) and Kohl's. They're "regular" prices alwasy seem grossly inflated so they can off stuff at 50% off and still overcharge you no.gif

thats funny riggs. We first went to boston store and found what they listed as 89$ gloves for $45. Me and this other guy who heard me say "I just want a good $5 pair of gloves!" say "ya me too. its NOT HERE!" Saw him at JC Pennys later and he and his wife showed me where they found these $10 gloves. I think we both got the same pair.smile.gif
