Yep... we all knew it was coming, but I thought they would have the decency to at least wait until next quarter. hmm.gif

I'm not really gonna comment on that; I figured they'd be back asking for more just like the banks did.

I read some things in today's newspaper that has me worried for my city and county though.  Delphi is laying off over 900 people here in Saginaw alone. Another article said that 2 of every 9 homes are in foreclosure here in my city, and in the county it's 3 of 9.  The new unemployment figures were released this morning.....Saginaw is at 13%, and that's only the people still eligible to be counted on the rolls, doesn't factor in the ones still without a job but are no longer counted. It's not looking good here at all. cry

where are the new runs on battery powered no money down easy financing $4000 70mpg cars from these guys then???? what is it they are trying to even sell!?

as far as the housing crisis, gee I'd rather pay $600 a months rent on an apartment I like enough rather than be strapped to a $2800 mortgage payment for the next 30 years.

Sorry, you guys need to do better for me to play.blankstare

I talked to my brother last night.  He works for Playbouy Pontoon.....his job is sales to dealers and also the general public when they have boat shows.  He told me he's laid off as of today for an indefinite amount of time.  He just got back from a boat show down in Detroit this past weekend; he "sold" 25 boats while he was there.  The kicker came in yesterday.....none of the 25 buyers could get a loan through the banks.  Five of those potential buyers had put down half to 3/4s of the price of the boat as a down payment.  I only mention this because if the banks aren't loaning money to people, how the heck does the government think the auto makers are going to be able to sell their cars to the general public?  I personally don't know anyone who has enough cash to buy a brand new vehicle.....they need to finance it, yet the banks won't do it.

Thats why we should just stop with bailouts and stimulus's already. They don't work. no.gif

Has anyone heard anything about Ford?

Have they stuck to their statement that they weren't going to need any bailout money?

The only ones I've read about with their hands out lately are GM and Chrystler.

That's cool.

See to me if there's consolidation of the big three Ford has earned immunity.

Now that's a mouthful.

If they could take the quality of GM and the sales/working of Ford, that might be worth something.

That was a mandate in the economic stimulus plan, lest we have to have an oil / gas company bailout.... well... that does kind of make the Bailout the bail out plan, but you get the idea. Clever marketing ploy! wink.gif
