Drinking On The Job

16 REASONS WHY ALCOHOL SHOULD BE SERVED AT WORK...

1. It's an incentive to show up.

2. It leads to more honest communications.

3. It reduces complaints about low pay.

4. Employees tell management what they think, not what they want to hear.

5. It encourages car pooling.

6. Increase job satisfaction because if you have a bad day, you don't care.

7. It eliminates vacations because people would rather come to work.

8. It makes fellow employees look better.

9. It makes the commissary food taste better.

10. Bosses are more likely to hand out raises when they are wasted.

11. Salary negotiations are a lot more profitable.

12. Employees work later since there's no longer a need to relax at the bar.

13. It makes everyone more open with their ideas.

14. Eliminates the need for employees to get drunk on their lunch break.

15. Employees no longer need coffee to sober up.

16. Sitting "Bare a**" on the copy machine will no longer be seen as gross.

My coworker and I decided to go across the street to the local redneck bar and bbq restaurant for a little liquid lunch to destress. I've NEVER had a couple beers at lunch before, but we both agreed it was a necessary evil that day. So tell me - what are the chances your boss (and CEO) decides to eat lunch there that very same day? A place I've NEVER seen him eat lunch at before. I guess it's just Murphy's Law... He says to this day that I function better under the influence.

Some days I so wish that I would take a liquid lunch, just to survive the afternoon with my co-workers.

I only did that one time, we were doing inventory and a few of us ran to the bar in the mall for a shot.

Believe it or not, in my firm it is ok to go to lunch and have drinks with clients and come back to the office. I have seen my co-workers come back pretty snockered before. But not me!

drinking on the job? is that anything like "sex on the beach"?

sometimes, the career path i am following feels sort of like a "sloe screw" (that's so 80's!!)

refering back to the lost thread... did you ever hear the song "Frank Sinatra" by Cake? lost signals floating around in nowhere land, occassionally dropping in on you via the radio. (in this case, the internet) I always wonder, what kinda stuff have we lost out there? Stuff you thought you sent to the desktop printer that never printed. Remember video taping a show on t.v. and when you play it back either it was a different show or it switch part way through? (the kid may have been messin' with the remote, not sure) it makes for wonderment.

Thanks for keeping me entertained. Someday, JD will give me the walk thru on internet radio.
