Drum Roll Please............It appears it final.....a decesion has been made!

And it looks as though I will have a front row seat for the next 4 Mardi Gras celebration in New Orlenas, as my son has deceided to accept TULANE UNIVERSITY's offer of being a Presidential Scholar at the school.  I'm very proud of his accomplishments (#4 in his class of 400+, great ACT and SAT scores, etc).  He also has scored very well on his AP exams and, depending on how he does this term, will enter Tulane as either a 2nd sememter Freshman or a Sophmore!  I can't wipe the smile off my face......

That's one of the things that Andrew is excited about...the ecletic nature of the community, the music, the arts, etc.  He had narrowoed it down to Emory in Atlanta and Tulane......the smaller city won out!

Wow, shaving a year of tuition off the bill...I guess that is a huge reason to smile too.

Sounds like you and Mrs SG did a great job.  smile

He was awarded a Presidential Scholarship.  It's really the best academic scholarship they offer.  There are 10 of one better program offered each year....but that's tough to get.....

He's looking at Political Science, International Relations and related subjects.  He May minor in Latin American Studies (2nd best program in the country) or possibly a minor in Homeland Security.  His desire is to go right on to Grad School!

Decent Law School, Med School and Graduate Biz Dept.  Their Engineering Dept is also well respected and you graduate with a Masters in 5 years!

I would think that is something of critical importance at this time in history.

He just found out after some research that Tulane has one of the better Spanish programs in the country.  I've told his Arabic would assure him of a job at graduation...but it's his choice.  And if the State Dept. didn't hire him, he could always work in a Quickie Mart!

Congrats to your son SG!  It sounds like he worked hard in high school and is now reaping the rewards of a job well done.

Congrats to you and Mrs. SG too; you set the groundwork for his success in school and deserve to feel proud of his accomplishments! smile
