I liked it when he basically asked her what her point in being there was and she very matter of factly told him, "I'm trying to become a professional singer."

There have been lots of "not prizes" with awesome voices. It's just a shame that people put so much emphasis on the physical appearance of the person doing the singing. Its not like she was going for a top model contest or something.
I'm always happy to see someone like this lady rock some people back on their heels. And I'm even more glad that I don't have aspirations of a job where I would get judged on my physical appearance. I'd hate to have to assume failure from the start.

I remember watching a show on VH1 or something a while back and they were talking about how Christopher Cross hit it big initially but then fell out of favor once the video age kicked in and he wasn;t so photogenic (or is the videogenic?).
The same with the real voices behind Milli Vinilli. I would have liked them no matter what they looked like.
You are a strange kitty!
Actually, it was the same case for Snap - I Got The Power wasn't it? Martha Walsh from the Weather Girls sang the song but they didn't use her in the video.

Ha Ha! Umm yeah....maybe that didn't come out the way I meant it! Ok I liked Blame it on the rain but the Dudes themselves....NO!!!

I watched this lady's video yesterday and was blown away by her voice! I'm glad she shocked/surprised the judges and crowd with her powerhouse singing. I'd be really surprised if a record label doesn't offer her a recording deal.
I don't like how even after she proved herself that they were all like "we are suprised that someone as homely and mongoloid looking as you has such talent. the shock is wonderful....."

That's what I suppose I find so amazing. I fail to understand what her appearance has to do with her ability to sing. I will grant you that a lot of not talent hacks try out for those shows, but some of those people are physically very attractive.
I don't know how anyone else feels about it, but I might actually watch one of these shows if they really gave Joe or Jane Average a break... but they don't. If you don't look like you belong on a magazine cover they don't want you.

I'm not sure about Snap but it happened with C&C Music Factory
Also Susan is amazing! I was more pleased about Piers being stunned. He irks me sometimes- lol

2 years ago a nervous guy called Paul Potts won the 1st ever Britain's got talent, again proving that you don't have to have a six pack or be a beautiful skinny person to have talented... Last year it was won by a 14 year old lad called George Sampson... The teens loved him and all voted... There were a couple of other teenage singers in the final and they were awesome too... I wanted the other teenage boy (Andrew Johnson) to win, but the 12 yr old girl had a phenomenal voice too.. I was biased to Andrew as he was from my home town... ;)
