Sunday Morning. May 3. Two thousand and nine.

CRAP!  CRAPPITY CRAP CRAP!

I've been up since five AM and I'm wide awake hmm.gif

That's only four and a half hours sleep.  I have a full day ahead of me and a full night of work after that.  This is the recipe for disaster.  hmm.gif

I'm hoping if I spend a little time online I'll get sleepy and be able to catch an hour or two nap before I gotta start getting ready for the Brewer game.  And the game better be more interesting than their last four snooze-fests or I'll probably wind up asleep in my seat!  angered.gif

Ok.  I'm done bitching.  Everyone have a great day.

Good day all.

JR, I hope you got back to sleep!

We have a lazy day planned around here. Need to do laundry and a couple chores around the house, but for the most part, we have the day to ourselves.

I did manage to get another hour and fifteen minutes of sleep in. Hopefully that'll do. If not I should have an hour or two between getting home from the game and work that I could catch a quick nap.

GO BREWERS!

Good eve all! It's nice to wind up a great weekend with lots of time outdoors with a ****tail and JD's shows! I think, while I'm doing so, I will shop for a bicycle. I got it in myhead to buy a new bicycle this spring, maybe a cruiser or a mountain bike.

Happy shopping!  I've got a mountain bike and a 10 speed; I prefer the mountain bike most of the time, even though it's a heavier bike than the 10 speed.

Thanks Sandy! I'm pretty excited about it. I'm torn which bike to get though, since it's been so long since I had one!

Wow, what a weekend...
Outside all the hours I could. Took the '60 Out to the Farmer's market. Lots of heads turning. Got some awesome cabob meat. Played Jarts, drank some Lemon Drops, a little fire, Jiffy Pop. Felt it this a.m. Church and food, the niece did her confirmation today. Got back home and did some garden stuff, took a walk. Haven't tuned in yet. Gunna see if I can get it on the Vista machine. Pipe it to the patio.
Howdy Y'all!

Got a bike shop there?  Some will let you test ride a couple to see what kind you want before you buy.

Hi Squonk!!  Great weather to take the Olds out cruisin'.  I got to see some eye candy this weekend too.  Makes me happy to see the cars brought out of storage and back on the road where they belong. biggrin Glad you had a good weekend!!

Hmm, bikes. I've got five. I just can't get rid of any.

12 Spd Road Bike (1977 Kabuki)

14 Spd Road Bike (TREK 1200, racer)

18 Spd Mtn Bike (Specialized Hardrock)

18 Spd Tandem Road Bike (Schwinn)

1 Spd (Early 70's Schwinn)

My favorite is probably the 1977 Kabuki. It's a heavy steel frame road bike. It's got drop down bar tho.

I think the best bike ever made was the 5 speed. Raleigh Sprint.

laughing.gif I know you're big on biking, Squonk, maybe you can suggest a couple good starter bikes? We're thinking it would be fun just to get inexpensive road-worthy bikes to get our feet wet. It's been a loooong time since I last rode!

Expect to feel it in your rear at first, unless you get one of those gel seats.....I've heard they soften the blow, but I've never used one so I don't know how true that is.

The hybrid versions are really pretty nice. Not a mtn bike or road. They have great shifting, comfy seats and slightly wide tires.
Mtn bikes are great in theory but, the gearing sucks. Getting a mountain bike would probably make you not want to ride.
Road bikes are hard on the butt and back.
I consider myself fairly fit. I think that's why I can ride on the drop down bars. (that and I never really got used to the mtn bike handle bars)
I've got a pair of mountain bikes youse could borrow. (originally $325.00 each)

Hey thanks for the feedback Squonk. It helps to know a little better what I'm getting myself into! I need something not too brutal on the butt and back. nod.gif

Now I'm going to be silly for a moment, but wouldn't it be awesome to have an adult Big Wheel among your rides? I always thought that would be fun...I even looked into it, but the grown-up versions that do exist are not too safe. hmm

Sandy, thanks for the idea on the seat...

Tragically, the best we have now is office chair races.

Yeah, I'm wondering what the new corporate overloard's view of the nerf dart gun fights is going to be? Somehow I have a feeling that the good times are going to be not so much anymore.
