Looks like the homepage is back to normal. Thanks for getting that fixed, Web!
Not much going on so far, but that is because I just woke up. Its already 77* and sunny. I have a few things to do today, but I have to be careful about being in the sun as I did get a little bit of a sunburn on my legs and feet.
Gonna be a great day though. I need to figure out what I'm going to cook on the grill tonight. I already know what is going on there for tomorrow: SWINE RIBS!
Enjoy, everybody!

That which does not kill me postpones the inevitable.
I'm on neighbor's dog duty this weekend. The neighbor lady also told me that she though their momma cat was going to have kittens any day now. She said "Don't worry about the cat, she'll find some place there in the garage to have the kittens.
I took care of the dog tonight and checked on the cats in the garage. I couldn't find momma. I was looking around (in piles of "stuff") and and calling her when I heard her growl. She was growling at the other cat on the other side of the garage. She was in a small box with a kitten. The way the box was laying with one corner down, I was afraid she'd kill the kittens so I moved the box to lay it more flat.
After doing that, I could hear a kitten crying, but it wasn't coming from the box. I got a flashlight and I could see a kitten down on the floor in among all the 4 ft tall pile of "stuff". So, I started digging. When I got to the kitten, I saw three more, two were already dead and the third was breathing, but he was really cold. I made her a new bed out of a milk crate and a rag rug. Momma seemed happy with the bed and the two active ones were eating and she was licking and trying to warm up the one that I'm not sure if he'll make it.
After I looked closer, I saw that in giving birth, all the fluids soaked through the bottom corner of the box and made a big enough hole that the kittens fell through the bottom of it. I'm guessing the two that were dead had been there 2-3 hours. Hopefully they won't feel like I should have done better at watching them. I guess I'll find out by whether or not I get asked to take care of their animals again or not.
I went back over tonight and checked on the kittens. The one in question seems to be doing great. Momma must be a good momma. He was warm, dry, and active so it looks like we saved three out of five.
I made a better bed for them too so they are better protected. Momma cat seemed appreciative for the help.
Web, I think you did a great job. Poor little kittens!
I am so sore today. We walked a lot at the track, all while toting our stuff, so that's got to be it. I'm wondering if I got a touch of heat exhaustion yesterday too. I got sunburnt on my shoulders, but I still don't feel it, although Brian said it felt hot when he put some lotion on it last night.
I just got back from checking on them and we still have three babies and it looks like they are doing well.
It made me sad though . . . when I got there, momma got out of the box and went over to where they had fallen through the box and she was looking and calling for the two that didn't make it. She knows she has more babies somewhere.
