great chicago blues singer died yesterday. gotta see if I have some of her stuff in the archive for Sunday. RIP.

We got to see Koko Taylor about 5 years ago. Amazing show. She could still really kick it.

Our local NPR station does a blues file every Thursday morning at 8:30. The guy stayed up last night putting a thing together about her. It is like a 10 minute segment, but it is always interesting.

It was interesting. He mentioned how at 18 her and her husband moved to Chicago. And that her "first album" was recorded without her knowing it. Afterward she received $25 in royalties for it.
