Since we seem to be forming a small community here, and seeing the outpouring of support for the annonymous member who had the family health worries I thought it would be great to have a standing prayer request thread.
Heck, we all need some support sometimes or a place to shout out some good news! It could be an annonymous post if the request was personal or hard to bring up. We could check in each day and see who out there needs a lift.
You know, I think I like this idea, and it took a lot for you to put yourself out on a limb to suggest this WFTR, so I commend you for that. Our niece (my wife's sister's only child) died in a car accident on Feb 4 on her 18th birthday, and I could've used a safe place to vent. Hardest thing I've ever had to deal with. I feel like there's enough of a family feeling but also still enough anonymity in our community forum that makes it possibly a great place for something like this.
Equally nice is also using this thread to celebrate someone's good news. We all want to get ahead and get the best for ourselves, but I believe that the best of us in this world also want others to feel joy and be comfortable as well.
A danger could be that this kind of thread could be a turn-off to some who might view it as too 'religious', or who might not be Christian (I assume the majority on this board who are religious are Christian since it is the predominant religion in the U.S.), but this thread can be generic enough to accomodate everyone.
Fortunately, personally I don't have any significant problems that merit prayer requests at this time, and I don't really have anything significant to celebrate at the moment, so I'll leave the first post of something of substance to someone else.
