Good day all.

I'm trying to avoid letting my weekend get as hectic as my work week. 2 people yesterday hinted that they wanted me to do something with them this morning. My response was that I'd be available late morning, because I'm sleeping in. Well, it's not quite late morning and I'm awake, darnit.

In a few I'm stopping by the Farmer's Market, hoping to avoid doing anything for Caps for Cancer this morning, because after I do my errands there's a Caps for Cancer meeting. I just can't dedicate that much time to it this weekend, or brain power.

Then tonight we're having a neighborhood birthday party for our neighbor from Saudi Arabia (I think. I'm a terrible person, I can't remember. One of those countries.). He's a really good guy. So I'm baking him a birthday cake, and I've thought about picking up some balloons too. Other neighbors are grilling or bringing dishes, and it's going to be a big cook out and pot luck. Basically, we're all getting together to throw him an All-American birthday party. It'll be fun.

G'morning all.

I went to a campfire last night and now my fleece jacket smells like burning wood.  I love that smell smile.gif

Today I'm trying to decide whether or not I want to take a trip up to Green Bay.  My Mom & Sister are up there for the weekend and I might go visit.  Or I might sit on my butt and enjoy a day of doing next to nothing.

Choices, Choices.  Hmm.  What to do.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Happy Saturday evening, all! I've had a busy weekend already. Didn't get to sleep in today because the furry alarm clock (Eddie) decided that he needed attention at 7AM. That was okay because I needed to get up anyway to get ready for Miah's T-ball game. smile.gif Around 7:30 my friend texted me to ask if I could take her to work in an hour, so I agreed... plenty of time to still get to the game and I needed to stop by Wally World to get some sun screen anyway and there is one right across the street from her work.

Miah's game was a BLAST. Watching little kids learning to play sports is fun. They try sooo hard. Frequently they get soooo bored. The "pitcher" on Miah's team decided to build a sand castle on the pitcher's mound in the middle of the second inning. rofl.gif He was not pleased when the coach (my son) reminded him to watch the ball. The second baseman and the center fielder decided to sit down and pick the little white clover flowers that were all over the field. They all did very well with batting. Fielding and throwing was another adventure all it's own. It was great! The ball finally made it near the short stop, so he took off his glove, set it on the ground, went over and picked up the ball, went back to his glove and put it back on, then threw the ball somewhere in the vicinity of the pitcher's mound. laughing.gif

Probably the thing I thought was nicest about the experience is that they let all of the kids who sign up be on a team and play. Miah's team has a little girl named Felicia who just recently finished up her last chemo treatment. She is a good little player. The team they were playing had a little autistic boy on it. He's not quite into it, which is understandable, but he did hit the ball pretty well once, then casually walked backwards up the third base line and went to sit on the bench. smile.gif

I've spent the rest of the day cleaning the house and doing laundry. YAY for me. Perhaps I can relax some tomorrow. smile.gif
