Two new 80's artists added to playlist (kind of)

A new single from A-Ha that I kind of like, called FOOT OF THE MOUNTAIN from their new album of the same name.

These are the Norwegian boys that brought us "TAKE ON ME" and "THE SUN ALWAYS SHINES ON TV".

Second is Kritinia DeBarge, the daughter of James DeBarge, member of the group DeBarge ("Rhythm Of The Night", "Who's Holding Donna Now")

Her song is titled "Goodbye" and samples "Na Na Na Na Hey Hey Goodbye".  Not a huge fan of sampling but hey, whatcha gonna do.  It's the way music is these days.

Both songs are available for request and will be in the rotation for a while.

Oh, and I fully admit the main reason I added DeBarge's kid is because she has a TOTAL 80's look goin' on for the single's cover art...

Wow, that is a total 80's look.

I think I heard her "Na Na Na Na Hey Hey Goodbye" on the radio (sometimes I leave the pop station on in the car after Retro Lunch), and I didn't much care for it.

Now that wouldn't have surprised me. I kind of thought that is where JR was going with that.

Well, I wasn't sure how old she was so I stayed away from the "hot bod" talk. I took a lotta flack from people for drooling over an underage Taylor Swift. It's all good now though, she's legal. nod.gif

You are save with Kristina too...."Kristinia DeBarges first single off her debut album is already looking like a smash at pop radio and can be heard in Niveas latest TV campaign. It may be called Goodbye but shes not going anywhere! At just 19-years-old, Kristinias emotions run deep. Shes learning and growing while she experiences life, love and relationships along with her young fans. Kristinia knows that she doesnt have all the answers but on her captivating first album, her fans will absolutely relate to her as they join her ride of self-discovery. Kristinia is no stranger to the music business. Shes the daughter of 80s pop star James DeBarge but her road to a record deal was not handed over to her without patience, perseverance and hard work. Kristinia knew she wanted to be a singer at the age of three but didnt reveal this passion to her dad until she was twelve."

That's from her My Space Page...as is this: "Kristinia DeBarge: Call her at 310.773.0367's Latest Blog Entry"

Oh come on now... she knew she wanted to be a singer at 3 yrs old?!?! That's pushing it a bit, don't you think? Most 3 yr olds like to sing, but I don't really think many are making career plans. She actually had a good story going til that point. laughing.gif

For a normal kid, maybe.  But for someone whose entire family is successful in the entertainment business, it's probably not that much of an exaggeration.

I really like it too.  When I first heard it the lyrics immediately struck me as good.  Plus it's got that classic A-Ha sound.

Thanks for adding.  This is the kind of thing I wouldn't have been aware of without FFR.
