Top 5 Stranded Island CDs

If you were stranded on an island with only 5 cds that you could listen to for the rest of your days what would they be?

I will NEVER tire of these cds, no matter how often I hear them:

1. Rolling Stones- Sticky Fingers

2.The Black Crowes- The Southern Harmony And Musical Companion

3. Miles Davis- Kind Of Blue

4. U2- Wide Awake in America

5. U2- Joshua Tree

Isn't it funny that we both thought of top 5 lists at the same time?  Great minds think a like.  Okay here goes -

1) Janet Jackson - Rhythm Nation 1814

2) Pat Benetar - Best Shots

3) Def Lepard - Greatest Hits

4) Top Gun Soundtrack

5) Madonna's Immaculate Collection

My first choice would be the Bible on 5 CD's, but if not that then:

  1. Depeche Mode - Some Great Reward

  2. Seal's first CD

  3. Journey - Evolution

  4. Annie Lennox - Diva

  5. Jose Feliciano's Christmas CD (Feliz Navidad)

Hm, that's a hard one.  I'd have to go with a few best of's:

  1. The Compact King Crimson

  2. Best of Bowie

  3. Sammy Hagar, The Essential Red Collection

  4. Sylvia's Crib (my friend's band that is no longer together, but is definately some of the best music ever)

  5. And Harry Belafonte, Live at the Carnegie Hall

And only if I could sneak in a 6th, Led Zepplin 4

These aren't necesarily my favorite CDs, but they are my favorite from each genre.

Ultimo! I don't think Freeze Frame Radio features anything you mentioned!?! Glad you are here tho, but are we serving your musical tastes adequately?

You know JD, it's wierd.

I don't even know if REO would be one of my TOP FIVE artists!

But I voted based on albums that I felt were that VERY RARE combination of 10 or so GOOD songs.

You know what I mean?  The type of album where there's not even ONE song that you always feel the need to skip over?

Those five discs are just the most listenable from start to finish for me.

Oh I hear you Riggs- I am not even a Boston fan, or that big of a Journey fan- but Boston's first album is so cohesive in sound and mood, and Journey's Infinity album is soo well produced and the songs run so well into one another, that I can't argue with the album greatness, even if I DON"T LIKE IT!

Can I trade one of my CD's for a solar panel to run my CD player so I can listen to the other four?

Sadly, Ultimo, my 7 year old daughter has a mini iPod, and I don't even know how the thing works...

The Big Easy soundtrack
Supertramp Greatest Hits
Pink Floyd Wish You Were Here (appropriate, I think)

And probably a couple other Pink Floyd CDs
