Morning all. Looks like it is going to be another beautiful day weather wise here. Sunny and a high of maybe 83. Presently, 55*. Hopefully the work day will fly right by.

We're kind of ticked off today. Our Buick got a hit and run yesterday at the bank yesterday. Its not real bad, a piece of trim on the bumper is lose and the clear coat is peeling off and plastic is scratched up where it got banged. Our insurance deductible is $250 and I expect it to be about that much to fix it.
That makes three hit and runs on us now in the last few years.
The weather guy says its going to warm back up to about 90 this week. That is still a little cooler than normal for this time of year. I'll take it.
Morning. When I came in an hour ago it looked as if we were ready for heavy t-storms. We shall see how long before the clouds burst.
I have things to do, yet don't want to do them. The day I had planned has, of course, been shifted. I need to get to letters, journal entries and returning of e-mails. The remainder of my day will depend upon whether the boss agrees or disagrees with my return comment. If he agrees, the work I did Wednesday and Thursday remains intact and I can then move onto my schedule audit prep work. If he gives me a hard time and I have to do everything over, I may just call it a day and leave.

But why do I believe that you don't really know how to sleep in (unless you aren't feeling well)?
"Grassmower"
I did mow both properties yesterday. *ugh
I guess it depends on what "sleeping in" means. I typically can't sleep past 9:00 on a sleep in day. If I wake up and see its much past 8:00, I start worrying that the customers may be needing help and then I can't get back to sleep. Many times, I'll get up, check everything out. Then if all is ok, I can then relax and curl up in my chair and catch another hour or so there.
I figured you would make it to about 8am. That is sleeping in. Now me, I was awake at 8am last Saturday but went back to sleep until 10. Now that is really sleeping in.

Ah yesssssssssssss... I finally make it into Camp Happy for the day and I see my new neighbors have moved in. Its a call center... specifically the employee help desk folks. Well, the tier 2 for the help desk. So dig on this: If I need to call in a trouble report on my computer, I call the toll free number which is answered in Bangalor, India. (not kidding) If they can't get my issue resolved, they send my problem to the guy who sits 20 feet away.

Now that I know where they are, you bet! The guys who were setting up the cubicles for these people to move into accidentially cut off network access for the dude who sits next to me. He had to call Bangalor to open a ticket. While the lady had him on hold, one of the guys across the way came over and told him they would have to dispatch a ticket to the people who work on such things. They can't fix it themselves. Crazy!

We don't even have that whole foreign piece involved, but we do have a similar thing. The whole ticket thing s sucks. Of course, when I fried my LAN connection I didn't open a ticket. That probably explains why it has been fixed yet because the guy forgot about it. I have been plugged into the one next to me since the desk is empty. I guess if someone were sitting there it would have already been fixed.

I had to laugh... Dude already got a response on his network connectivity issue. He was told that he would have to get manager approval to get that access. That's right.... he has to get manager approval to get the access back that someone jacked up and disconnected.

We have two different networks available to us. The company enterprise network, which is useless to us other than for accessing IM and e-mail. The OSS network is the one we need to access all of the functions we actually work with. That's the one they disconnected on him. Since I'm here today, he borrowed the LAN cable from the desk on the other side of him. That lady is always off in the training room, so she won't even notice.

I guess he is glad he can be connected. Such a bunch of crap to fix somethign someone else broke. Maybe you guys shoudl have pulled his leg and told him that he must be getting laid off if he can't get into the network. Oh wait, I guess that isn't so funny.

The only reason I'm laughing about it is that it didn't happen to me.
There is all kinds of mayhem going on around here right now:
One person though to check with payroll to see if anything extra that is going to be withheld from her last paycheck. She found out that she theoretically agreed to some advance a couple years ago and that is going to be withheld. Now the whole crew is bombing payroll with tickets trying to get the same information about themselves.
Another lady left her computer unlocked. An e-mail went out to the whole crew announcing that she is wearing her husband's linesman boots today. Everybody is cutting up over that. I think we are frightening the new neighbors.

Just wait til we all get working on something and they get a load of us all yelling stuff at each other. Somebody will drop the F-bomb and we will all get nailed.

Actually its 3 months now... move got rescheduled to November 6.
Jokes still in full swing: Little Man's laptop was briefly "stolen".
Someone else sent an e-mail announcing that his mexican wrestler mask was missing. Somebody replied that they saw dude who sits next to me and our boss with it going into the conference room. I replied, "Its review time. DON'T ASK!"

There's lots of stuff around here that would rock on YouTube.
Hey... good news for me. Apparently I'm not one of the people getting dinged on my last paycheck. There are a few of us who aren't. Unfortunately those who are getting dinged are really pist now.
