Good morning, everyone!  Looks like another HOT day in the Tulsa metro.  Our outside thermometer read 103 when I left yesterday and we're expecting the same today bleh

We got more storms off an on all night. Its raining again right now.

The boy wants to go to the motorcycle/atv races at the fair this evening, but with all the rain, I'm not sure they will be able to make a track.

Mrs Web stubbed her little toe on the bed last night. She may have broken it. Its still really sore and a little swollen and bruised around it on her foot.

So how about we brighten up this day? I checked the "holiday listing". It seems today is International Beer Day and also National Underwear Day. Celebrate how you will, but I think it is none too coincidental that these two would fall on the same day. nana.gif

Good day all.

Keep cool, DS & Mema! We're supposed to start getting muggy around here soon, once the rain and gloominess goes away. Hopefully it'll wait to get all hot until everyone has power back.

Enjoy your couple hours away Fuzzy! It's probably quicker to get home too without the rush hour traffic, huh?

Oh man, I've stubbed my toe like that before. That hurts!

I am escaping early to take boy to the double A baseball game this evening. It is his birthday. I have had the tickets since April. I also have dinner ready, I just have to heat and eat it.

At that time of day the ride home will be a bit shorter. Probably about 40 minutes unless I behave myself while driving on the highway. We are going to leave the house by 5:15. There will be a little traffic on the way up to the game. That may take us 40-45 minutes too. There is a tribute to slice bread this evening. Don't ask. I don't know who comes up with this stuff. There is also a "breadbox" for the first 2,500 adults 15 and over tonight. I hope they don't run out of bread again this year. The last time I went to a game where they gave away a free loaf of bread it was all gone before I received any.

Our old, crappy grill is dead. The burner is burned out and it only flames on the ends. Its done.

I was just looking at new grills. I think we're getting a smoker this time. It will be fun to try some different things and to learn how to make some good smokey meats.

Smokers do rock! I had one for a while... that is how I used to do my Thanksgiving turkey. Takes FOREVER, but its totally worth it.

Takes lots of time, patience, charcoal, and wood... but its totally worth it if you have all of that at your disposal. A whole turkey takes at least 12 hours.

Try smoking just a turkey breast. It doesn't take as long, and it really is the best part of the turkey anyway. That is what a friend of mine did. I talked him into it though. I bought it, he smoked it.
