Dovetails, JennyCat and I have taken that bold step and actually posted our real faces.
Who's next? Do we look like you imagined? Will you look like we imagine?
I've taken the liberty to lift the offer by Dovetails and repost it here.

If you want a picture of your own as an avatar, that picture needs to be on a web server somewhere on the net so it can be read and displayed with your posts. Not everyone has a good place (host, server, website, etc) where they can put their picture so it's web accessible. I happen to have just that . . . a web server (actually two of them). So I am offering anyone here who needs or wants to post their own avatar picture, a place to host their pic. You can email me your pic at dovetails@gmail.com and I'll crop it if necessary to get it within the 100x100 pixel limit, I'll put it on my server, and provide you the link, URL, web address (whatever you wish to call it) to that pic (avatar). Then, in the avatar settings on your forum account, you can enter the web address, height, and width (which I will provide) to your pic. When that is done and someone looks at one of your posts, your pic will get pulled (read) from my server and displayed here on the board. I hope that makes more sense. "
Im tempted to put my photo online, I think its cool when you actually know what the person your talking to looks like, I may not be next but I will be doing it soon.
Well when I don't look so much like a tramp anyway, I need a shave reallly badly!!!
Since our computers are frequently checked here at work, I figured it probably wouldn't be a good idea to have my picture up to show them how much I slack!

All of the above, Star - if there's only one person in the shot, it's me. Including Beetlejuice (some guys were chatting around me at a haunt once and it only dawned on them about halfway through that I was a she!) HAHAHA!
Thanks MZ - Roadkill was great because people thought it was cute until the velcro stomach opens! I think my favorite is my daughter's first costume - she won her first costume contest before she was even born. Glad to hear there's another Halloween fan around here, MZ!
Great picture Star - yep - definitely a bunch of redheads around here.
It's a couple years old, from my wedding, and really not the best quality. I've chopped my hair and lost at least 15 pounds since then. One of these days I'll take a more recent picture.
Thanks Ray, yes, I knew you were joking. Mayhaps I should remove the ex shots from my album, not that he looks like himself, but you know, just to be polite!
MZ! You've got to be kidding!? My wedding was medieval too!! No joking! We had it at a park and everyone came in costume. We even had a 6'4" executioner, a king and queen and a couple friends from my office wore burlap sacks and came as the poor. It was a blast!
Our wedding was in a park, and we had the ceremony under a huge Willow tree. But the dress was really casual, and the wedding party were the only ones dressed up. That was fine with me, because we wanted to keep it small and fairly quiet.
That sounds really nice, MZ! The way weddings are such a production to the tune of about, what, $15K for the average one? For four hours of your life, that's a big chunka change, I'm in one of those wedding myself in a week. Ours was more of a big crazy party (but still pretty cheap relatively speaking!)
Jennycat, if she knew you said that, she'd sqeal with delight! She purposely got those glasses because they look like Harry Potter's. She's a huge fan. So of course, I keep picking on her that I should get the new book this year instead of her, because it comes out on my birthday. In reality, if I can find a way to get the book to her on the day it comes out, I'll do it. There's such a difference in our ages, I feel like she's more of a daughter to me than a sister.
OUCH! $17K! That's a CAR for crying out loud! Sheesh! I think we kept ours under $5K too. They only thing I went overboard on was designing a dress that had to be made by a real dressmaker (my skills costuming only go so far).
I made my dress myself, but the fabric did cost close to $100. Hey, $100 and some blood and sweat isn't much for a dress, I thought. I also do a lot of altering and dress making for my friends (I'm making my friend's wedding dress right now), but it's definately not something I would want to do for a living.
Speaking of, Zim, if you ever prick your finger while you're making a costume and get blood on the fabric, your own spit will get it out but someone else's spit won't. Tip of the day!
