Our state budget is shot to hell. Taxes keep going up. Services keep getting cut. Meanwhile fraud like this continues to happen everyday and no one in state government seems to care until they find out the local paper is going to go public with the information.
LOOK at the house this woman had before she bilked the state out of 3 million dollars, then look at the home she had by the time they finally put an end to her scam!

Yeah, it's pathetic. And they cut funding for fraud investigators! One catch like this, which was WELL within their grasp, would pay for the fraud investigators for a decade!
I'm so tired of this crap.
Our local paper has uncovered example after example of this stuff. I give them credit for doing a great job of investigative reporting and not letting up on it.
But what's even more disturbing is how slack the government agency that oversees this is... Shouldn't the caseworker also be held accountable? Maybe she was getting a cut too...
Society is so broken...

The Acorn news of today made me think about this child care stuff in Milwaukee.
There's an update.
The state is FINALLY taking the issue seriously and putting tremendous resources toward investigating and prosecuting any fraud in the WI WORKS Child Care System.
The FBI is also getting involved.
Again, NICE JOB Milwaukee Journal/Sentinal. I rip on em' a lot for being a liberal biased rag, but they did a great job here. I hope they keep the pressure on.
Fraud and corruption knows no party, it seeps into all of em'.
The biggest of all the fraudsters in this local case of child-care fraud was trying to sell her mansion (that she built with her ill-gotten gains) for about a million and a half bucks but was having no luck.
Suddenly this weekend the place went up in flames. Hmm.
