It's another stormy morning in the Tulsa metro. The days are becomming noticeably shorter and the days pleasantly cooler. Seems like the feel of Autumn has arrived early this year.

Good day all. I'm here at Camp Happy, and as my co-worker Jack informed me it seems as though we should be playing some durges around here cuz it is just that dead. There are only a handfull of us here today. I'm not seeing hanging out much past 2:30 or 3.
It is rainy here today, presently only about 64*.

Going to the Brewer game tonight, gonna sit in something called the Gehl Club and get an autographed Casey McGee Baseball Bat. It's some fund raiser for his sons charity, I think his son has MS. We get free beer, a free buffet, a baseball bat and get to meet Casey I think, it should be a blast.
Other than that I'm just planning on buying a grill finally and spending the ENTIRE weekend grilling out and quite possibly drinking myself into a stupor.
I just realized I said FREE beer and FREE buffet and FREE baseball bat. That's not entirely accurate. This is a charity so they're not giving anything away free, quite the contrary, they're trying to raise money.
But we took some of our family season tickets (we just have a 20 game pack) and traded in a few games so we could buy a couple tickets to this event.
If everything was free then I guess that woulda made ME the charity

JR - may I go to the game too? Pleeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaasssssssssseeeeeee.
I too was thinking about a few adult beverages. And it is about time you started grilling for yourself. Hope you find a good clearance price on a grill.

My wife called to tell me that the bank where she works has been sold. We are not extremely surprised this is happening, but we are surprised that there were no rumblings of this before it was a done deal. The last sell off was horrible for them.
She has a little hope though. She used to love her job. She enjoyed helping people work on their problems. She had some power to make decisions that could get things done. Then, this group of small local banks (I think there were about 10 branches) was sold to a bigger regional bank.
She has not liked her job since that last buyout. Much bigger corporate crap. She could no longer do things like make an address change to a customer's file without using a form that had to run through the main office 200 miles away that had to be approved. Other stuff like that too. I've mentioned some of those things like the clothing comments, etc.
With only one big exception, it looks like its mostly just the branches that were once the previous bank are what was sold this time. They didn't sell the entire bank out, just those 10 or so branches.
So, we will see what happens. This is a scary thing, but yet it could get better too. One of the top loan officers just moved from Iowa to take a job here. Less than a month later, he finds out he's not going to be working for the company he thought he was.

He traded one corn town for another?
Hopefully things will work out and be fine Web.

Yes, Fuzzy, he did. He is actually from this area so it was a move "back home" for him, but yet I wonder if he would have made the move if he had known this was coming.
One of the branch managers called a friend of his who works at this new bank. He said that his friend had good things to say about them, so that is positive news.
Mema, I was actually thinking of you and your weather just a few minutes ago while watching the local news. The weatherman was showing the map and talking about how a high pressure system was parked over us and providing amazingly comfortable and dry weather. He said it'll be here for the next four or five days and that even if storms were to pop up to the west the high pressure system would push em' all down to you! Sorry 'bout that, but thank's for taking the bullets for us.
Its not so bad here. The temperatures are cool enough that I turned off the A/C at home about a week ago. We haven't had any severe weather. Right now its just a light rain, much to the amusement of the security guard at the front desk today... I went out to pick up some cards at Hallmark just down the street and didn't bother to take my umbrella with me. I would not call the result of the walk back from the parking garage exactly a "one woman wet tee shirt contest", but I did get a bit damp.
