You know...I went back to New jersey 2 weekends ago for a good freind of mine's wedding... we'd known each other for about 5 years before I graduated HS and moved to Illinois.there was a big age difference though, and we actually knew each other through her older sisters who were in the grade above me....(for those confused ....sisters=12th grade, me 11th grade, Friend 8th grade, just for reference)

When I was in 11th grade, our school district, having just defeated a referendum to build new schools to help overcrowding, had to shift grades around to have everyone fit, so the 8th graders ended up in the high school.

We were all in Marching band, & the little 8th graders were allowed to join the "big" high school marching band, so Gabby (my friend) and all of her friends joined.

My senoir year, even after those kids had officially become HS Freshman(9th graders), we all still thought of them as the "8th graders"

Well, (after 8 years)when I went back for the wedding  2 weekends ago... i saw a bunch of the "8th graders"...but it was weird cuz they were buying jack & cokes, & amarreto stone sours, and telling stories about living in studio apartments in New York City Working for Juliard or teaching in an inner city school....plus there was this one mousy little girl...WHO GOT HOT....She looked like a young Lea Thompson (for those of you who don't think of her as hot...Back to the Future is my Favorite all time movie....& I crushed on her HARD)

K...So...where is this going...& why is this  following Star's post? I was one of the first posters on this board, & kinda saw it take off...I knew waht was going on, & knew the inside jokes...Star and the other current chairmen....uh....er....chair"people" (there's a change I'm sure was addressed I gotta look for in past posts) were just Newbies, standard members, or early veterans when I went on hiatus, & I was safely in 3rd place on the post count.... But I went away for a while (like going to college & moving to illinois)....And now that I've come back for the wedding, all of you "8th Graders" have grown up....& I am SOO out of the loop....

.......good thing I was really good at making my own loops anyway

Sorry Star, I could have broken that story up & given it to you a sentence at a time, post by post, boost my number up to around 650 or so, but I thought i'd tell a story people might appreciate, & they'd get it all at once...not all posts have to be read in 2.5 seconds.

I agree.  I've always said substance is good.  And it was an interesting story.  (you are almost as fun as weftur to tease-see you at lunch)

O.K., so my question is......Who of the 8th graders here got hot?

Sorry, couldn't resist, Mo.  I liked the story.  I taught religion to kids when I was in college in my spare time.  I taught the same group of kids from 3rd grade until they finished 6th grade.  Now I go into the tavern and they're in there buying beer and having a good time and I'm thinking, what the heck is wrong with this picture?  When did I get to the point of "I remember you when you were no bigger than..."!  That's just too damn scary.  On that bright note, I'm going to the dentist.  I'm gonna be late if I don't leave now.  Have a good day, all!
