But I like the idea of doubleheaders. You dont see those much any more and it was always kind of cool to spend a day at the ball park. Sure they lost out on ticket revenue, but the concession revenue could balance that out.
If the Brewers ever go deep into the post season, I am glad Miller Park has the roof.
If the Phillies had hit a single in the 9th inning of game two, there may very well been four first round sweeps. And if they hadn't canceled the Saturday night Phillies-Rockies game, there would be no playoff baseball today.
You know it was a smart move to cancel the Saturday game in Colorado, but it makes us more angry that the Phillies-Rays had to play in that lousy game 5 of the world series weather last year. And more angry about the start time of last night's game. It was 10pm here when the Phillies game started. How is that fair I ask you? First they make the defending champions play two straight days at 2:30pm and then a game that no one can watch. Even the Saturday night game wasn't supposed to start until 9:30 here. Don't give me that ratings and marketing crap either. MLB/TBS/Fox do lousy scheduling. For two years in a row the Phillies have been getting screwed.

I like the day games personally. But because of the time zone differences....the games played in the western time zones shouldnt start later than 8:00 eastern time.
It is unfair to ask east coast fans to stay up until 2 am or later to watch a game.
And I believe Selig said last year something about timing and younger fans. Last night was a pathetic example of trying to grow the fan base. Just because there was a football game in the afternoon doesn't mean there can't be a baseball game too. It's happened in Phila before. Traffice sucks since bothe teams play in the same complex, but games get played.

The Rocky-Phillie game was played in Denver. A Bronco game had ended around 6:15 Central. That means it was about 3 hours and 45 minutes between The NFL game and the MLB play-off game.
I am not sure if they just didnt want overlap, but unfortunately Philidelphia and Denver have a 2 hour time difference. So it merely exaggerated the issue. It might be worse with a Dodger-Phillie series. There is a 3 hour difference. Hopefully, there will be better scheduling.
The nice thing is you are in the play-offs and still playing in the NCLS round. So boo hoo. There are a few fans that would like to test drive that problem. Congratulations though Fuzzy. Just plan on sleeping at work like the rest of America.
The Angels are a good team. They were a good team last year too. You know that on any given day and team can win. That is why they play the games. I am hoping that the Phllies win tonight. I would like them to start out on the right foot. I would be okay with them coming home having split the two games in LA. Mind you, I would much rather see them come home up two games to none and them win two of three at home.

Well, its 2 weeks from November....was bound to happen.
Baseball needs to do something...either more double headers, shorter season etc to compensate for the extra round of play offs. Baseball is a warm weather sport and playing in snow (like in Colorado) is insane. Its not even fun for the fans.
The world series should be done by early October. As it stands its going to push close to November. Too Long.
Football was meant to be played in the snow, not baseball. The World Series used to be over by the middle of October. They should change the LCS to 5 games. Not that that will help too much.
