Gee, it is awful quiet today. Did everybody decide to stay home or leave early today. Not too much is going on here. I am lonely. We need some new topics. Anyone? Anyone?
Star you must be around somewhere - because you always are.
Is there anybody out there?

Well, I don't know if you can about this but I jst picked out some eye guck. I was going to follow Trish's theme and make an eye guck thread. Besides that I'm fresh out of ideas. Maybe Dylan will come back. A girl can only hope!
See, just like Superman..when a damsel is in distress, Guitarman will be there....faster than a Cmaj7 chord, able to leap small amplifiers in a single bound...
well I'm alcoholic right? I quit about 4 months ago for the millionth time. i've quit before so many times and it never stuck. i quit once for a year, and i quit when i was pregnant, and i quit a couple of years ago for about 8 months. I went to AA and it never really worked for me. This time, i got hooked up with my best friends mom who is in the program. i knew i would call her if i ever quit because i like her a lot. so i quit because of that stuff with my mom because i know it is because she drinks and i dont' want to end up like her. I'm 30 in 2 months. I have a 3 year old. I dont' want to be a drunk mom. and i dont' want to die a horrible alcohol related death. hang on I'll be right back......
JC - I think it is good that you recognize what could be a problem for you and that you want to make things better for you and your son. We may not be the same as AA, but we are here for you and you know it.

Dylan - you better not him me with one of those flying guitars. You better not fly into me either. And so help me, if I trip over one of your amplifiers........

OK, i'm back. so anyway, i called my friends mom Cindie. and we met once or twice before i ever even went to a meeting. AA doesn't work if you don't do all of it: meetings, work the steps, get a sponsor. She is my sponsor and we do the steps together. we say prayers and take steps. I am in a funk though. I am SO sick and tired of this stuff with my teeth. I know in my sensible mind that it is better all around if i don't drink. and even necessary for me not to in order to live. drinking caused every single probelm i have today -- including my teeth i know it. but my alter ego, we call her Drunkifer, is messing with me big time. I feel that there is no fun in life without drinking. not to mention that it gives me great releif of my anxieties and tooth pain. I mean i feel that i NEED it like medicine. and when i don't need it, i WANT it for fun. i feel like i am a moody and depressed mom, where before i used to dance and play (bing drunk) with my son. I used to pass out early every night. but when i was up, i was having fun and playing. My husband sees it different. he thinks i shun my responsibilities and pass out when i'm drunk. but now, i feel that i'm too depressed to ever do any chores and other wise i'm at an AA meeting. I don't know. it isn't a debate about if i'm going to drink or not. I just want sobriety to work for me. it's not now. and i hate it. Today is really bad. I have this pain that won't quit. i went to the dentist and she said it's all ok, and won't give me anymore pain meds. it will hurt for a while more and take ibuprofen she says. I'm so tired of it. i feel i deserve a break. i deserve to get drunk.!!! how sick is that. when i first quit, every second was a panic. i had a month long panick attack, and the months after that, i had one that would last 3 days every week or two. i haven't had any like that in about a month. but then, i was willing to go to any length to achieve sobriety--even go through that. Now i'm bitter an whiney about not being able to drink.... what is that??? I'm going to burn in hell for even thinking about it!!!
You know what I really love about this forum? It's here when you need it!
Let it out, JC! Better you vent and get some support than touch that drink. We're all praying and pulling for you and GOD IS WITH YOU! He has promised to ALWAYS be with you, but He never said it would be easy! Just the opposite, we will be freed from the sin in our lives, but we still have to face the results of our decisions. Right now REALLY SUCKS, but it will pass! As sure as I am of my faith and my salvation, I promise you this WILL PASS! Just please hold on to what's real and adding to your life, and ignore Satan holding up that lie on the rocks. And don't hang yourself up on what you think you've done to earn hell. Got news for you, we've ALL earned it. What say we dodge that bullet together? You take one of Christ's hands, we'll all take the other. Just leave one hand free to thumb your nose at the devil, lying bastard!
Jenny- You aren't going to burn. It sounds like you've hit the wall or maybe the wall smacked the crap out of you. Just hang in there. I know it's easily said. But take time to take stock. I bet the pluses out weigh the minuses. You feel the weight of the world is on your shoulders and I can only imagine but just hang in there. You know you have a precious gift in your son. Celebrate that and embrace it. I hope your husband is supportive of you and can help. Please talk it out with him. I know keeping it inside seems like the thing to do but the more you talk about your problems the better you'll feel. I know I do. Sometimes the hardest part is just getting it in the open. I admire your courage to open up to us. I don't know if I could. Just hang in there. There is no hug so I hope this works.
Without making this too much about me - I have a similar problem. You want the feeling of being drunk, but you don't see yourself as other people see you when you're drunk. If your husband doesn't have a good impression of you, than trust him. There are other things too do besides getting drunk. Have some Ben & Jerry's. Have some good sex (can I say that here?) Just look at all the good things in life that you can enjoy sobber. Your dr. just doesn't want you to get addicted to the pain meds. She knows what she's doing. Hang in there the prayer thread is powerful. and I've already prayed for you. By the way, we don't have to be bored to discuss any probs you are having.
if my teeth were hurting and my dentist didnt want to give me something for the pain, i'd be hunting another dentist. and yes , i do know dental pain, i mean surgery, extractions , bits of bone and teeth working thru gum lines oh-ya!! what fun! i mean take the number of teeth you have, divide by 2, subtract 6 , thats what i have left. so far $7500.00 spent, (cash) $3500.00 (cash) to go !!! then maybe i can get my life going again. as for the drinking, i am familiar with aa and thier program. it works as long as you want it to.(no im not a member) it aint easy, but it works , 1 step at a time , everyday, 1 step at a time
I'm really glad that you feel you can open up to the forum and let us be part of your support system.
We've been so lucky in building this forum, we haven't had a jerk in the bunch yet. Instead we have a group of very compassionate, very caring people, that only want the best for each other.
ANYTIME you need a friend, you KNOW you have a bunch of them here, and we'll ALWAYS be willing to help you through a hard time the best we can.
oh my gosh you guys! I'm going to cry at work!!! I aws just thinking about how great this forum is. It is really a gift to me and i tell friends about it and they are like "huh?" but they just don't know. and i don't necessarily want all my friends on here because then i can be honest. Anyway i only know like 2 people that would even play on the internet like this. and they aren't people we'd want here anyway.
I think i may have something bigger going on with the jaw. like TMJ. she talked about that. but ya, the pain med thing is a real sticky situation because we shouldn't have to just suffer, but they are addictive and they'd rather fix the problem not just dope me up. but they can't figure it out. or i'm just really slow to heal and i just need to be patient. i'm sick of thinking about it.
Having God in my life is definately the biggest thing. If i was on my own, forget it. i'd call in sick and get drunk!
Now JC, there is crying in friendship, but no crying on the job. It can be hard. Its okay to be misty-eyed, provided no one notices. Let those big tear drops fall in a much more supportive place.
