What IS Freeze-Frame Radio?

I've had almost NO time to work on the playlist and stuff, but the general concept of what FFR will be until we finally pull the plug has come into focus now.

Basically, FFR is now "All Hit Radio".

The main playlist (ie request list) will be built with this structure:

Top 40 Hits of the past 50 years are almost guaranteed a spot on the playlist.

Hot 100 Hits will be considered and usually included on the playlist.

Songs that did not chart at all will NOT be on the playlist.

There are two exceptions to this rule:

1)  No rap music, songs containing swearing, etc.

2)  If there is a live DJ on the air they'll have the option to take email requests for ANYTHING that's in our library.

Finally, we are now working with two systems, the main one which adheres to the rules above, and the OLD system which we will switch to one day a week.  That day we will not only have access to the old playlist of over 10,000 songs, but it will be increased to include even more album cuts.  That day will kind of be an anything (but rap) goes day.

If you'd like to a see a song added to the regular playlist but aren't sure if it was a Top 40 or Hot 100 hit you can check at allmusic.com

The artist discographies has a link to "awards" which will tell you how high a song charted on the Hot 100.
