The start of a new week

Good day all.

The roads are nasty here this morning.  It's only a little bit of snow, but in true B-town fashion, it melted on the roads before it froze, putting a nice icy base before topping it with snow.  Add to that it's the first snow of the year so people aren't used to driving in it yet, and there were a lot of slide offs.  On my short way to work, I saw one where the SUV was nearly vertical in a tiny little ditch.  I don't think they could've aimed for that exact spot if they had tried.  But there was no one around it, and it was completely off the road, so I'm assuming they got out but the tow trucks are so busy they hadn't gotten around to getting it out yet, especially since it's going to be a hard one to pull out.

Howdy,

We have a covering of snow, and one little degree of temperature. We were supposed to get 2"-4" but I'd say we actually got about 1-1/2".

Its cold.

Morning. We had our first snow Saturday. It started as rain on my way into the office and as the temperature dipped, turned to snow. The snow started on my way home from work Saturday afternoon and continue through until around 10pm. Thankfully, that first snow occured on the weekend so it traffic wasn't as bad as it could have been. We had enough to cover thr grassy areas, but because of the earlier rain, the roads seemed to stay wet. Of course after I ran some errands and got home later in the afternoon, I don't know how things were. I stay all nestled in the house as it was safer there. There were college football games to watch and Christmas gifts to wrap.

Web - so sorry that NE got robbed of that win Saturday night.

Good morning, everyone. No snow (yet) for the Tulsa metro, but it's bone chillin' cold and windy.

The heater at home went out Friday afternoon, so we were heating the house with the electric heaters over the weekend. Our heating and air guy will fix it today.

I'm swamped at the office, so I won't be playing much today.

Hope everyone has a pleasant Monday.

Thanks . . . that was an exciting game. Our defense was awesome, unfortunately Texas' defense was also playing very well.

NE would have been fine if the kicker didn't put the ball out of bounds on the kickoff after they took the lead. You can't give TX the ball on the 40 and not expect them to get it into fieldgoal range. Then that last play, or what should have been the play. no.gif The QB looked like he thought he had all day for one more play. They got lucky.

Yup, that out-of-bounds kickoff is likely what caused the ending. If only that last play had taken one more second. hmm.gif

I need to see if I can find the UPS truck when I go home for lunch. It is usually around the downtown area at noon. One of the boy's Christmas presents is "out for delivery" and if I don't get it early, he will be home when they get to our house later today. If I can get it early, I won't have to lie to him when he asks "what's in the box?" later.

Nice.

I have several Lego unopened sets that I bought sometime ago and put away. Mind you, I am not exactly sure why I had bought them. It could have been a combination of holding onto things or thinking that my nieces would want them. I am not going to open them or put them together. So a few weeks ago I pulled them out of storage and decided I should try to sell them. It'll help me pay the bills. I have a few K'nex sets too. I haven't gotten too far though. They made it out of the basement, upstairs onto the sofa, I made a list and they have been sitting there. I am tired of looking at them. I guess I need to go to a flea market or something. I don't have the patience to try and do the Ebay thing.

I do have several assembled sets that are currently out on the basement floor too. I went in to find the soccer field I was constructing. Most of that is together. The remainder of the sets are together and all over the floor. My nieces have played with them. I have all the instructions, so I probably should take pictures, take them apart, clean and ziploc those sets with the instructions and see if they also would sell.

You might do fairly well selling them. Those kits are expensive.

After I made the list, I went through Ebay to see if the same sets were around and what they may be going for dollar-wise. I think are about 35 sets and they were going for about $800 in total. I sure could use those dollars. The K'nex (there were 4 sets) and were worth around $125.

I am sure that I should have put the sets on Ebay in mid-November. Oh well. I just don't want to pay the Ebay fees either or deal with potential issues.

Fuzzy, you could try Craigslist and just sell it locally.

Good day, all. I'm now settled into the unfashionable (north) end of the campus. I never thought I would honestly say "I miss parking garage P.", but I really do.

Its 25* here... kind of sleeted a little here last night, but not so much on the snow. The big storm that is supposed to be putting the smackdown on a bunch of the country is supposed to go just north of me. I'll not complain. Apparently we are just supposed to get lots of cold air according to the local people. The national forecast sources still say snow through Wednesday.

I have thought about that too. Of course, since I have trust issues, I automatically believe that someone will try to rip me off.

Require them to come pick them up in person and pay cash.  Unless they printed the money themselves, you should be fine.

Hey Fuzzy... I just noticed... the pink noise generator for my area is right next to my cubicle. SWEET, huh?
