I knocked out another big chunk of Christmas shopping last night. Summoned up every bit of intestinal fortitude I had and went to Toys R Us.

That which does not kill me postpones the inevitable.
I got lucky... the one I went to is by a mostly defunct outlet mall, so traffic isn't too bad. Of couse when I left there I heard on the radio that they are having some mega-sale starting today. Go figure.
Once I got past the initial shock and awe, it wasn't too bad. The worst of it is trying to find stuff they will enjoy. As I was walking around stunned, I remembered that Walker said he wanted an ant farm, so I bought a lot of stuff from the science section. I like giving educational toys.
There was more actual hassle involved in going to Walgreen's Pharmacy after I was done at the toy store. Normally I scope things out pretty good before I go in, but I was still a little dazed from the toy store so I didn't notice until I walked in that the police were there. Walked in the door and there were about 6 people standing right there. I was starting with the "Scuse me, pardon me..." thing when I noticed the 2 police officers. Not my business, so I scootched my way through. Not sure what the deal was, but my guess based on the scene was some sort of altercation or possibly shop lifting, but no one was in cuffs.
