Golden Girls

Love it!  One of the few shows I have every DVD of.  My husband loves the show, and got me into it.  It's not that you're a guy - it's just that you're really really weird.

Of course, I was a huge SOAP fan, and love everything by Susan Harris, so maybe that's just not your sense of humor.

Well it goes without saying that I'm "really, really weird", BUT I did like SOAP. smile.gif

How about "Empty Nest"?  Again - same people behind it.

Wow! I forgot about empty nest.

I don't think I cared for that show, but for some reason I just remember it being basically shot in a fairly bland two room set. A living room and a kitchen.

I'm sure that's not the case, but that's how I'm remembering it. I gotta go on IMDB and look it up now. that's really a blast from the past.

WOW! Seven seasons! I never would have guessed it was that long of a run!

That's where Joe Isuzu came from! clap.gif

It's funny because when LS mentioned EMPTY NEST the thought to come in my head was "eh, it was ok but I didn't really care for it much, it kind of was like Benson, alright but nothing to get excited about"

Turns out the guys behind SOAP, EMPTY NEST and GOLDEN GIRLS were behind BENSON too.

Yes, they always use the same actors.  One of the daughters from that show was on SOAP as Danny's wife.
Actually, Empty Nest was a spin-off of Golden Girls.  They're neighbors.
I LOVE Susan Harris!!

Glad it's all coming together for you Riggs.

All my life, if I liked something, I wanted to know who was behind it. Shows are the same as songs - the creator is THE most important part, whether you weirdos think so or not! biggrin.gif

I remember Hotel, though I didn't watch it.  My best friend did, and thought it was hysterical.  We also have all of the available Charlies Angels DVDs.  One more season to go - they sure take their time releasing those!

This one is good!  And it attests to my "NEVER be without a camera" rule.  We were standing on the sidewalk, near the tour buses, waiting for the club employee to bring me my photopass so we could get into the show.  And she just walked right by, going into the nearby restaurant.  (At the time, she was starring in "Wicked" which was close by.  Only in New York, I tell ya!)

The back story on how you get these photos and sound bytes is really interesting...
either start a thread or keep us all in the loop as to how, why,  when etc you get them.

Rue McClanahan suffers stroke

Golden Girls star Rue McClanahan, 75, has suffered a minor stroke, her rep said yesterday. The actress' speech and movement on the right side of her body have been affected by the stroke, and she is undergoing physical therapy, reports E! News.

Last November, McClanahan had heart surgery and spent the following two weeks in a hospital intensive care unit after doctors successfully removed a blood clot from her brain, the representative said. Her recovery is "slow but steady" and she is expected to be released from the hospital by the end of the month.

Get well soon!
