Cold, Wet, Snowy Thursday

Good day all.

I know we might all not be cold, wet, AND snowy, but I'm pretty sure everyone is at least one of the 3.

I'd say we have 2 or 3 inches of snow on the ground right now, and it's still snowing.  It still blows me away that a couple inches is enough to shut everything down around here.  Dude, we're in Indiana, snow is not that unusual, but the city here does not know how to plow the roads.  If I were up north, the roads would be clear, here they're snow covered.  It was a little slick driving in, but I blame the city for not being able to get this snow off the roads.

Good day all! I would not qualify it as wet here, but it is for sure cold and it snowed a bunch last night. Its windy too!

Weird that Indiana has an issue with road clearing. That is one thing that 'the powers that be' are fairly good at. The roads have already been plowed, including the private drives in my hood.

I cleared my own driveway and front walk last night along with part of the private drive... can't really tell that now. I've been told that we got another 3 inches of snow after I did that last night.

Our snow warning or watch (not sure which) is from noon until 7am. I still don't think we will see much.

I am kinda in a mood so I may not be around much again. Plus my brain wasn't working very well earlier this week and I thought I was ahead in my work because I got a week done but due to being off on vacation, I need to get 2 wks done! Didn't realize that next week is payroll. *sigh*

One positive thing that I am happy about:

Supernatural won fav sci-fi/fantasy show at the People's Choice Awards even though they didn't air that award. We never win anything (barely get acknowledged) and this may be the final season so I am very happy! smile

Cold, dry and sunny here. For now. We are due to get some of the snow that affected Mema and the lower Midwest. It will be cloudly later this afternoon/early evening. The snow is due to start around 1am and won't be much (1-3") but it will be enough to make the morning commute a mess.

The good news is that this storm system is dumping the light, flakey snow... not the wet, heavy stuff. Its a little easier to get around in.

When we had our big snow in early December that is what we had, the light, fluffy stuff. We had about an inch of the light, fluffy stuff last Thursday too. That is why is blows around so nicely.

Oh yeah, it was the mid December (the 19th) snow that was 12". And then it rained all afternoon and through the evening on Christmas Day and the temperatures were near 40* and the next day you wouldn't have known that we had all that snow. It was gone.

I've still got the Christmas snow sitting on my lawn. It really hasn't gone anywhere. Very little of the last 3 or 4 snows we have had have melted off.

That's my guess here too.  As far as I can tell, the road by our office still hasn't been plowed, it's just got a clear path from the traffic.  (You know, the two tire lines where everyone drives.)  It's not that much snow, if they were doing their job right, the roads would just be slushy.

Cool that your show got some acknowledgment Woo.

My current favorite show (Chuck) is coming back for what I feel will be it's final season.  It's one of those shows that just never seems to be given a fair chance to catch on.  They move it, they put it on hiatus, the skip episodes then show multiple ones all in one night.  no.gif

This is it's third season and originally it wasn't going to start until March with an order of only 9 shows.  Luckily something else on NBC got canceled so they increased the order to 19 episodes and are starting January 10'th with two episodes and then another one on the 11'th.  (See, right out of the gates they're making sure as many people as possible miss the first three episodes).

Anyway,

Happy Thursday everyone.  I'm going to go spend some time with my Dog today, I've been missing her.

Tonight it's back to work for one night and then it's weekend time.  YAY!

Everyone have a GREAT day!

Oh no!

I forgot about that!  I sure hope it's not up against Chuck, that would be suicide for Chuck.  If I'm not mistaken I think it's usually on Mondays isn't it?

I love 24 too, but I'd probably record it to watch later.

Should be Mondays at 9pm. I think the start is back to back Sunday the 18th and then Monday the 19th. I think it is better to record it and watch it later. That way if it is going good you can skip the commercials.

Good, I think Chuck is at 7 or 8.

I agree, 24 is a great show to watch on DVR so you can skip the commercials instead of being left on the edge of your seat every time there's a commercial.

D'oh! crying.gif

Chuck is TOAST!

Monday is not a good night. CBS has a killer lineup of comedies, FOX has 24 and if I'm not mistaken for a while Idol is on Mondays too.

It's like a suicide slot. no.gif

Oh, I thought Chuck was at 8. But then again, I don't watch it so I haven't been paying attention. Sorry.

What did NBC cancel on Mondays? I think Trauma was Mondays at 9 (my time).

I don't recall. I want to say MERCY or something like that.

I know it was a brand new show that once again they didnt' give much time to develop, it was one of the first shows canceled from the new season. Only about four or five weeks in I believe.

I didn't watch that one but I remember seeing previews and such. I can't believe I have to wait until March for ABC to return V to the air.

If I ever win the lottery big time, I'm going to buy a huge bubble and put it over Michigan so winter will bypass us. biggrin
