I am still with the program. I also believe that the professor, Star and JC are still with us. I am through chapter 30 and haven't touched it in a week.

I'm on ch 18. i know i'm behind. i will be able to totally catch up now though. i will have more time. i quit quitting. no more AA every single day of my life.
Yeah JC, do not give up on AA. I have been praying for you everyday! Keep up your spirits! But I know what you mean by no more quitting. It's hard to be the mom, the wife and the human being. Think of yourself first and all will fall into place.
JennyCat, I played football for 12 years and if there is one thing I learned its that success has a formula and you stick with it...
It sounds like the meetings are imposing a burden on your daily routine, but think of what the alternative would be and how that would impose on you. Stick with the meetings..evetually even hard things get to be routine. You have the grace to handle this. But you are in my prayers either way.
ya. sorry guys, but i already drank. I am going to do a weekend only rule. hope i can stick to it. i hope i didn't let you all down for parying for me. i am still going to try to be a good person and everything. i just want to relax and have fun sometimes like anyone else. and yes--i guess i need that to relax. i've engrained it on my brain that way. i've quit before and it has never been this hard. going to friends houses and being bored and tortured while they all get hammered and tell me with red eyes "you don't need that sh** man" and i'm like party on! and it's like the american way to drink beer and i just can't stand missing out on all that. so ya. it's a long story and complicated, but ya.
Jen, dont be afraid to get back up and dust yourself off and try again. Babe Ruth didnt bat a .1000. Being human means not being perfect. We are all works in progress. You can do this.
I have a realtive who is diabetic...she has to take her insulin everyday...she isnt a part time diabetic.
Dont kid yourself, there is not a part time alcoholic either. You can do this Jen, it just isnt gonna be easy...
Jenny, I'm sorry to hear you have quit AA but im not gonna sit here and say you should get straight back there cause it wouldn't make you do it anyway, would it? Only you can do that, its always gonna have to be your descion to quit or not, I just hope you find a way to sort your demons out. I will continue to send positive thoughts and prayers over to you.
I have thought of a way to make a book club viable for the forum.
Instead of picking a day of the week for the forum to discuss it...we could start a thread for each chapter...and as people read at their own pace, they could add to the discussion at their own pace as well.
People could move back and forth regardless of where they are in the book.
It may be too late for this first attempt at a book club...but I would really like to make it a workable and enjoyable endeavor if people are still interested. Any thoughts?
Sounds good. That may be many threads though. Hmmmmmm. Maybe threads in chunks of chapters, like 1-3. As long as the threads don't get lost somewhere down the line.

Right, it would depend on the amount of chapters...or maybe after a week, post a thread for a cluster of chapters. Hopefully we can find a book to grab people.
Well I am glad you ladies are still on board. I know we havent finished this one yet, but maybe give some thought to the next book you each would be interested in.
Maybe we can wrap this one up after the holiday,
At least we learned what might and might not work with this first attempt.
Let's all bring to the table one thing we got out of the book - a moral, or synopsis, or even it you took it as a joke (knowing Hank) but something that stuck w/ you.
That's cool, Queenie. Homework this weekend finish book - Let's all bring to the table one thing we got out of the book - a moral, or synopsis, or even it you took it as a joke (knowing Hank) but something that stuck w/ you. there's my egg rolls
Just wanted to get this to the top of the pg so people don't have to scroll and stuff. I'm all about convenience. and spelling...
Anyway, we'll see what the other 2 people who are still w/ us have to say. Cool?
