Okay I think it is Thursday

I have an emergency hearing today at 9 and I can't sleep. I had to call the police last night to get Emily from my husband. I know he is mad because I filed for separation, but I can't handle the drama. I know that I am doing the right thing, but man why does this have to hurt so much.

The boy is doing good at his dads and that has helped this.

I just want peace that is all I am praying for. Wish me luck in court and I'll be back later for an update.

Good luck today, Ruby.

WebGuy is thinking just for something different today, he is going to make it "Thurd Person Thursday" and only talk about himself in the third person. He thinks it may be much more difficult to do then it seems like it should be.

Is a cold 10 degrees at WebGuy's house.

Good day all.

Good luck Ruby. It may be hard, but you're doing the right thing.

MzHartz thinks she will participate in Thurd Person Thursday as well.

MzHartz needs coffee.

It seems to work for Elmo.  He talks about himself in the third person all the time....  :)

Mema is happy that in addition to Thurd Person Thursday, it is also WFH Thursday. smile.gif She definitely needs to go get herself some caffeine as well so she can wake up a bit.

For the record, Mema is hearing the voice of Bob Dole in her head thanks to Thurd Person Thursday. Its pretty creepy to her.

WebGuy made it to the office, but he can't get his hands warmed up. He's turning up his space heater to high.

Isn't he the guy that sells pineapple?

Close! For a brief interval he was shilling for Viagra. Mema for one, was very glad when they ditched that ad campaign as she found it creepy right on the heels of a failed presidential bid.

Hi guys.  Ghost will try to play along with thurd person posting, but she doesn't know how well she will do with it.  Ghost is positive she has never referred to herself in thurd person before.  Ghost's brain has to work very hard to do it.  Ghost knows JR would say "what brain??"  Ghost would then have to give JR an evileye

Anyway Ghost got some snow last night and is wondering if she should go out and remove it from her driveway or leave it for her husband to take care of because it's so cold at her house today.   Wind chill is putting the temp at -5 and it's supposed to continue falling throughout the day.  Ghost thinks this should get an evileye too.

Then Pambo drops by to say hello.  It's amazing that Pambo still exists, isn't it?  And what a day to pop in...Thurd Person Thursday!  Pambo thinks this day will be awesome even though all thoughts of Bob Dole are hurting her head....bleh

Pambo is feeling better than she's felt in a long time.  Her head isn't wanting to explode all the time...which rules!  She started going to a chiropractor...which she doesn't believe in...but it is apparently working for her.

Amazing what works for even the biggest skeptic sometimes...especially one as big as she is.  biggrin

Bob Dole: [ shaking head ] Doesn't sound a thing like me. First of all, I don't run around saying "Bob Dole does this" nd "Bob Dole does that." That's not something Bob Dole does. It's not something Bob Dole has ever done, and it's not something Bob Dole will ever do!

rofl.gif The pure genius of Bob Dole's thurd person speak is the use of both the first and last name.

Permanent State of Confusion

Fuzzy is not having a good day. First, there is some crappy snow and ice on the ground at her house which no one saw coming. Thankfully it is not much and it will melt quickly as it is due to be about 45* today. Second, she keeps forgetting to take the screwdriver up stairs to adjust the ball**** in the toilet. So it runs toolond until she lifts up the tank lid and lifts the ball. Well, in doing that this morning she dropped the tank lid and smashed three fingers right along the nails. There was some screaming, but surprisingly no cursing. Third, the major road to work had problems. There was a bad accident that had it closed for a while and traffic backed up for miles. Fuzzy was sure glad her friend said you better check the roads before you leave the house. So she went a back way. Yes, she knew that would be crowded but at least it would be moving. So she just went with it, took a ride, went through Valley Forge park and eventually ended up at work. It only took her 1 1/2 hours. Not too bad considering everythign that was going on. Fourth, when she does get in and settled, she had an email from a guy working for WA state who wants to do an audit. Fuzzy can't win. no.gif She has to call him and tell him that she does not have time for his nonsense the next three months. She is more angry because the just audited us in 2008 for earlier periods. The company owed less than $1,800. What a waste of everyone's time. Anyway, Fuzzy has already cracked open a soda and needs some breakfast. Then she needs to call this auditor.

I quit.

Moo.

Mema is sorry Fuzzy is having a bad day. She totally sympathizes with the frustration of the running toilet. The last time Mema tried to fix a running toilet problem she ended up having to replace the whole toilet... slight mishap involving a pipe wrench. She wishes you the best of luck with fixing your toilet.

Fuzzy probably should tell the auditor to shove it. Hope the evening drive is better.

Did Mema take a swing at her toilet?

Also, the auditor has been pushed off until May. Oh well, at least Fuzzy knows what is going to keep her occupied in May.

Tonight was the first night this week Fuzzy was going to leave the office on time. Or so she thought. That was her thought before she went to sleep last night anyway. Good thing she already has an extra 3.5 hours in this week.

Not exactly. Mema noticed that one of the toilets in her house was frequently spontaneously running, so she decided that the thing to do was replace the inner workings. She mentioned this to Momma while talking to her on the phone earlier in the day, but had no intention of actually doing it that particular day as she had plans to go play Texas Hold'em with some friends in a few hours. Her momma, however, decided that she was going to insist upon coming over to assist with the repair as a means of consoling Mema for the recent breakup of Mema's marriage.  Since Mema's momma is not big on emotional supportiveness, but was actually making the effort, Mema decided to go ahead and re-gut the toilet before going off to the poker game... which she probably shouldn't mention to Momma because Momma was happier believing her to be severly distressed.

Given that Mema was on a time frame she decided that in the half hour it would take for Momma to drive over to her house, she could certainly get started on the job by disassembling the current works and maybe even get started on reassembling the new works. All went well on the disassembly, so she started on the reassembly... which is where she ran into the incomprehensible cluster of rubber gaskets and fittings that came with the new works.

Failing to discern what all of these parts were intended for, she decided to read the instructional diagram that came with the kit: Step 1 = remove the flush handle. ohmygod.gif Didn't do step 1. This was not a problem until Mema became aware that it was step 1. One must follow the "Method and Procedure" document when one has such a thing, so the flush handle must be removed. Alas, the little nut was corroded to the bolt. Lacking the patience to look through the mess of chemicals Mema's wuzband left in her garage, she decided the quickest and most effective means of resolving the corrosion situation was to apply greater leverage to the situation... hence the pipe wrench. Mema did successfully detach the flush handle from the toilet tank... tragically along with a large piece of the corner of the toilet tank itself. There is no repairing THAT.

Mema is a telecom engineer, not a plumber (obviously)... according to the rather humorless fellow at the Home Depot, if one decimates their toilet tank one must replace the entire toilet. Ah well... on the up side, Mema did make it to the poker game on time and had the whole gang in tears laughing about her plumbing adventure.

Sorry. But it so sounds like something that would happen to Fuzzy. Except she knows where the WD40 is in her garage.

Fuzzy could just see that happening:

Guy: May I help you?
Mema: Yes, I broke this (holds up piece of tank with pipe wrench still attached). Do you have any toilet tank superglue so I can put this back in place?
