Hello gang,

Thank you all for your prayers and well wishes for my father.

I'm sorry to say that his second round of a more agressive version of chemo-therapy has not yielded the results they hoped for. His scans look the same or slightly worse than they did three months ago.

In two weeks they will again step up his chemo to a higher dosage and hope for the best.

The good news is he still appears outwardly healthy, and when diagnosed over a year ago they said this was a very agressive cancer that would travel throughout his body, giving him only a year or so to live. Yet today, we have the same level of cancer that we did all those months ago.

So that's a good thing.

That song came out right when he was diagnosed last spring so it is forever tied to the situation in my mind, and it always brings a tear to my eye.

Could you also use your special powers to filter out all the non-metal ballads - since its metal ballad tuesday?

Jeremy-
I'm sorry to hear the news. I can't imagine what you and your family are going through. However, you know to cherish the time you have together. That's something most of us take for granted. I will continue my thoughts and prayers. However, I have to uncross everything every once in a while, I'm cramping up.

Al's been over to Riggs house and we watched a few Packer games on the big screen. I think he's tough as nails old school; one of them "they don't make men like that any more" kinda guys. This is good.

not as big as Ray on the outside, but big on the inside. One of them guys with a garage full of tools and he uses each often, you ALWAYS CHANGE YOUR OWN OIL kinda guys. IF it don't work, ya take it apart and fix it then dammit kinda guys.


I am sure Riggs will indicate if I'm right or not- Al seemed to me to be a man of few words (mostly because the game was on and that takes 100% concentration!), but he's got one of them old school strong handshakes.

gee whiz for a second riggs had me doubting myself! I am sure when I met his dad he said "AL", but then we were all probably chomping on popcorn at kick-off so with a mouthful of popcorn maybe Earl sounded like Al to me....This must be one of them on-air Riggs jokes that I missed...

Thank you Somechick, everyones thoughts and prayers mean a great deal to me. We're remaining hopeful with my father.

Ray, I just don't think the world is ready yet for the reality of a talking penguin. Plus, I cherish my anonymity, and if I were to go public with the fact I'm a talking, typing penguin the press coverage would sureely be suffocating.
