Jeremy, I know that you are a big Vice fan. I am not sure if you already knew, but if not I thought you may interested. I saw on the news today that they are filming a modern Miami Vice. Colin Farrell and Jamie Foxx are the main characters. They are filming now in FLA, but moving soon to various South American locations. Sounds great, but Colin looks pretty rough, not like Don- a pretty boy. Oh yeah, they said not pastel suits!
If they're not going to stick to the original whats the point? There's been hundreds of cop movies, what makes this one original if it doesn't have the look and feel of the original.
I just watched the entire first season on DVD and I can tell you the show wasn't a success because of it's acting. I have NEVER seen WORSE acting in my life. Those guys, expecially Phillip Michael Thomas, were HORRID actors in the first year of the show.
Star, you are in FLA aren't you? They said they would be closing down parts of I95 Monday- Wednesday night. I know that FL is a huge state though. Maybe I am confused, maybe it is WFTR that is in FL. Oh where is my crystal ball?
The Hollywood machine is still trying to squeeze blood from a stone I see. They have hit some of these re-makes and produced some quality films, but it is very rare. Seeing as Miami Vice wasn't much of a TV show, the chances are slim. If it does have a chance it will be if they stick to the style. Otherwise, yeah, just make a really good cop movie and set it in Miami.
I will have to agree that what fun would a movie be without all the original traits. next you are going to tell me that they won't pull up their sleeves either.
