I think I have a stress filled day ahead of me. We open here at 8:30. I had two customers try to come in before then and I wasn't here yet. (Usually I am here early, but Starbucks was calling.) And that guy that was an hour late for the meeting on Wednesday, he has a booklet that he gave me the material for yesterday that he needs printed by the end of the day today for an event tomorrow. I sent him a proof last night (since I had to stay late working on it), and there was still information missing. You know how happy I am it's Friday?
In good news, the roomie started a new job this morning. It doesn't make a whole lot (in fact, I think he's getting jipped), but at least it's a job, and I think he'll really like it.
Good morning all. Sun is shining today and weatherman says we'll be hitting the high 30s all weekend. That will do some serious snow melting.......just in time to make room for some more on Monday.
I started reading a new book the earlier this week; "House of Leaves" by Mark Danielewski, but gave up on it yesterday. Weirdest book I've ever read......the main part of the story is going on, but off on the edges of the pages and at the bottom of each page another story is going on. Trying to read something that's printed this way is making my head hurt!! I'm half-way through the book but I won't be finishing this one.
Amen to Friday. Our daughter had us up twice during the night, just like every other night, and then both kids got up before 6, way before they needed to. Then my carpool buddy slipped on a patch of ice in my driveway and joked about suing. He didn;t even fall, and of course nothing will come of it, but on top of the lack of sleep it really pissed me off. I felt like saying watch where the heck you're going next time. This would be a great day to just say screw you world I'm going home....
But, I'll have to join the bunch of crabby patty's... One kid ticked me off, so I turned into a witch to all of them. I usually don't go that route, but these days, I've been bottling up too much, so it was inevitable. Then the NEEDY ONE was sitting in my chair waiting on me because it's Friday and he needs to get a bid out by noon (I know it's really 5, but he wants to be gone by noon), and he needs me to proof it. I'm BILLING damn it!
Let's all have a good day! Smiles Everyone! Smiles!
Oh, and... Neat kites

Good day, all. Apparently I did jinx myself yesterday on the headache thing. Ended up with one last night that finally went away, but it is back with a vengence this morning.

Meh... it will be okay. If I was at home, I'd go with ibuprophen, sinus meds, an ice pack on the face, and a nap. Since I'm at the office right now its a different story. We'll see how it goes.
Cruddy weather here... 36* and raining which is not helping. The rest of the day should be quiet though. Might check out early.

Its in the news here now, so I can tell you guys . . .
A lady walked up to the counter at McDonalds and told them that her and her daughter were being held against their will. A man and her child stayed outside in the car.
Someone at McDonalds called the police. Mrs Web's coworker's boyfriend is the cop who responded. As he pulled in, the guy got out of the car with a gun. There was a short standoff and the guy then shot himself dead right there in the parking lot.
I know this kind of stuff happens every day, but not in small towns like ours.
The news story says he was local when he was married to this gal. They split up and he went to Kansas. She filed a protection order against him but it was never served because they couldn't find him (I think it said about a year).
He showed back up here and took her at gunpoint saying he was going to take his kids back. While he had them, he stopped at McDonalds and had her go in to get food.
Obviously he was pretty off.
