Sit Tight New Orleans!

It gets easy to fall into a regional "better them than us" attitude when it comes to things like hurricanes and tornadoes happening. Sure the devestation is real, and you can feel sorry to a certain extent for the "poor saps" who live in tornado alley or in a hurricane or earth-quake region.

What cures this brought to you by the televised news detachment, is actually visiting places that are prone to such disasters. New Orleans is being pummelled by 70 mph winds tonight...

The whole coastside of Louisina is an environmental tragedy already happening; something like a hurricane could wipe that region out for good:

There is such history and beauty in New Orleans; and its liveliness is based on the fact that weather-wise tomorrow could spell doom; so you best live a full life today in the here and now. The fact that amtrak would even suspend its train today shows just how bad even a tropical storm can be, much less a hurricane.

I am heading to the prayer thread..

Yes, JD.  The hurricanes are really scarry especially when they hit close to some place you care about.  I always pray about the hurricanes for everywhere.  But no place in the US is safe from natural disasters.

Oh I know, its just the frequency which the hurricanes occur is really alarming! I think of Dove too in BROKEN ARROW Nebraska- being a tornado alley state; CP getting knocked around by Earthquakes out West.....
