I wasn't an official member, but I always liked the way he pitched. You know that I have no problem rooting for you team when it doesn't affect mine.
When he had surgery and missed the one year, he did a rehab stint at AA Reading. I got tickets to see his start. It was a good one. Last year when I bought tickets in March for a late August game and it ended up being the game that Martinez pitched a "rehab" assignment. Sometimes you get a little lucky at the AA level.

I'm really excited about this year. We won 80 games last year with the second worst pitching staff in baseball (really, we were one point ahead of the worst team, so basically we were the worst).
This year we've got an improved offense and a MUCH improved pitching staff. Experts are writing us off but I think we have a chance to finally do something big. And if we're in it at the all star break I have no doubt we'll pick up the pieces we need for a good run.
How about you? Once again the Phillies look like the team to beat in the East. Must be nice to follow a perennial winner! :)
It doesn't happen too often in this town. We will take whatever run any of our sports teams will give us.
I am not sure what the other teams in the division did in the off season. I am hoping this is the year the Phillies win 100 regular season games. They have been inching towards it for the last 4-6 years.

Plus, they were all old and pretty banged up the second half of the year. If they have had a youth movement this year, they may have to start building the team all over again.

I don't know if those teams picked up any key pieces that could help them this year. I know Washington is still young. I expect their troubles to continue. And they have sent the overall #1 pick to AA this year. Their AA teamis out of Harrisburg so we will see them in Reading this year. I may review the schedule and see if there is a chance at catching a game he may be pitching.
