Happy Easter! I think I love Easter even more than Christmas.
I'm going to try to broadcast our service live this morning. Our station is here and we have a special starting time of 10:00am (CDT) just for today. This will be our first broadcast through LoudCity so it may have some problems . . . I'm not going to stress much over the broadcast details though. This is kind of a test run.
I gotta get ready and go to praise team practice, then come back home and get the ham going on the grill. My dad and his wife and my grandmother are coming to our house for Easter dinner (lunch) after church.
I missed it Web. I slept late then couldn't find the Facebook page quick enough to find the link. I'm sure you guys sounded great though!
Everybody have a happy easter! I'm heading over to my aunts house for Easter dinner in a few minutes here (I guess it's more of a lunch since it starts at 1:30)
Good afternoon, all! It was a fabulous Easter at Mema's house. 150 eggs and 4 kids! What could be more fun? We also had lunch, then went on motorcycle rides and then had cake and ice cream. Mema is seriously worn out!
Further "yay" factor in my day... It took until 2AM this morning, but my truck door is now fixed. There is a known defect in the Ford truck latch/handle assemblies which causes them to eventually either all out break or become just semi-functional. I was one of the lucky semi-functional cases, but got that replaced. Sure, I could have taken it to the dealer and paid the $400 for them to fix it... but why not watch the wuzband struggle with it for 12 hours instead?

THIRTY SEVEN AND A HALF EGGS PER KID!?!?!?
I hope you plan to take em' all the the cardiologist after they eat em'. That's a lotta cholesterol!
I spent a good part of the day at the emergency veterinarian's office, thinking I might have had to put my Lab down today. She was vomiting and had very bloody loose stools most of the morning; she was a pretty sick girl. The vet gave her fluids via an IV in her back along with an additional IV with antibiotics in it. Hours later the vet came out and said we could bring our dog home, but we have to carefully monitor her over the next few days. Vet isn't sure what's going on with her but said 75% of the time it's caused by something the dog has ingested. I have no idea what she could have ate outside of her food and dog treats. She isn't the type of dog that eats things that aren't food. Anyway, my dog can't have any water or food right now (tomorrow I can start giving her 1/2 cup of water 3 or 4 times a day) and I have to feed her 1/2 cup of cooked white rice mixed with boiled hamburger ( a dog's version of a bland diet) 3-4 times a day for the next 3 days, then on the 4th day gradually start adding her regular dog food to the mixture. She's also on an antibiotic for 10 days as preventative measure. Vet said if she gets worse or doesn't seem to be getting better to get her in to my vet asap. Vet also said other things such as diabetes, kidney problems, or something wrong with the liver can also cause the same symptoms, so if she doesn't get better my vet needs to start running tests to check these things.
Needless to say, it was a trying, worrying day along with very expensive; but I'm so relieved that I didn't have to put my dog down today. Now I'm just hoping she gets better.
Oh no Ghost! Give us an update on her when you get back here later today. How old is she? Old enough to be having any organ failure problems? I can understand the stress that puts you through. A couple years ago I was going through a similar situation with my cat, Sami. You'll be thankful (if you aren't already) that you're home to take care of her.
Mz, after I posted last night, I was looking over the bill and noticed the vet diagnosed my dog as having HGE.....Hemorrhagic GastroEnteritis. I did some research and found out this is a rapid, life-threatening illness in otherwise perfectly healthy dogs. It begins with a little vomiting but rapidly progresses to explosive bloody diarrhea within minutes. I found my dog lying in a mess yesterday morning and didn't know what the heck had happened!
She had been outside to do her business 30 minutes before and seemed fine. She vomited twice on the kitchen floor then laid down.....I wasn't worried about that because I know sometimes dogs get an upset stomach. A few minutes later I went back out in the kitchen and there was blood all over the place.
My dog is only 7 years old; not really considered old for a dog. And she was perfectly healthy just before this happened.
And yes, if not treated immediately, it can cause organs to fail and death.
