Sounds like a paaaaaaaaaaaaar-tay!

Unfortunately I'll be at work. But I'll get to hear it later in the week when I slice n' dice it for JD.

Then I'll put all your stuff onto one of the discs you brought over, along with the bumpers (yes, I WILL provide you the bumpers FINALLY JD (I heard ya on one of those shows a while ago pointing out I've been promising em' for two years)).

Hey JR, you've got to let me know an approximate time that you'll be broadcasting on the 21st.  I want to be tuned in that day too! smile

I've got the Huey Lewis concert the night before, so I'll be off work.  I'm hoping to be on air by 10 AM and stay on until about 2 PM.  Then at 2 PM, we'll pull the plug.  I'll cancel the streaming account (I want to make sure I shut it down before I get charged for another monthly fee) and then try to get to bed by 3 PM since I'll have to work that night.

Still not sure how big of a deal we'll make of it at this point.  But I do want to be on the air most of the day.  I have a few things I want to say to you people!  evileye.gif

We love you too JR.  You're my best-est buddy!!

I do hope you're still planning to hang out with us here on the forum once you shut down the station.  I'd be totally lost if I couldn't throw you under the bus every now and then. wink

Oh yeah, I'll be here.

I'm still holding out hope that one day down the road I'll be making more money and can bring the station back.

If you could see the way it's set up right now, it's just such a pain in the a**. To do it right I need to make some changes in the hardware. The cost is more than I can afford right now, but that's because I make crappy money at my job. If I made a decent living it really wouldn't be that much to spend on a hobby.

I"m sure I'd have bit the bullet and kept it going even now if we were just broadcasting to a couple dozen people every day instead of the six or seven we have now.

One of the things I really want to do is get into App Development for the iPhone and iPad. My test app will be an FFR streaming app. If I get that working I'll put the station back on the air for at least a month to see if it could bring in enough listeners to make the whole thing worth it again.

So I'll want to make sure I stay in touch so I can keep everyone up to date on if we do any broadcasting in the future.

Besides that, I've made some great friends here. The ones I'm really close to I don't need the forum to stay in touch with. But I don't want to lose touch with everyone else either. You really are all kind of like family now.

Maybe an app for the iPhone would do it.  Nothing ventured is nothing gained.

I, myself, feel bad about this whole deal.  When I was working, they blocked all non-work related sites so I couldn't tune in.  And then when I finally quit my job, most of the time when I'm on the internet I'm either not listening to anything, or I've got a disc in my computer or I'll tune in to my local rock station just because I like a harder variety of rock during the day while I'm doing things.  I haven't got one bad thing to say about FFR's station though......I've always enjoyed the music I hear whenever I tune in.....I just happen to prefer this time of day or later to tune in. smile

Well, believe me Ghost, I don't blame ANYONE for not listening to us.

I know that we've lost many, many listeners because workplaces cut back on streaming.

I've never believed that a radio station was meant to be listened to for eight to ten hours in a row anyway.

In the end I guess I'm just surprised we were never able to build up a group of say 100 or so listeners that would check in for two hours now and then, a couple times a week.

Much of the blame falls on me.  I've just not been motivated to put the time into promoting the station and being on air to give the station a personality during the week.  But then, a person has to make a living and have a life too.  hmm.gif

If nothing else, maybe in 25 years, when I retire, Freeze-Frame will be back on the air!  biggrin.gif

Jeremy, sure FFR wasn't always my cup of stuff but, I have to say this about it, I listen to several streamed stations.
One in particular is a Jazz station from Switzerland. (they stream Classical Music, Opera, Old Jazz, Modern Jazz.) Anyway, there isn't a deejay.
Radio Paradise, CA. has live deejays during certain hours. Rock A Billy Radio, same thing. They actually play pre-recorded shows from the U.K.!
I still listen.
The tunes on FFR are for sure aimed towards the late seventies maybe early eighties but, I also hear modern stuff. I think you've got a great mix.
How would you get the word out about FFR?
I'm guessing Facebook has an impact.
I will have to tune in to the spiral of sound on Sunday eve.

Warm would be nice. Cranking, nice. I've got nice neighbors. They don't understand my music too much.

I got some real jerks that live behind me!  They'll put the weirdest crap on their stereo, crank up their outdoor speakers super-loud, and they stay in house while the rest of us are stuck with nothing but NOISE POLLUTION!!  Wouldn't surprise me a bit if while they're inside, they turn off the inside speakers. disbeliefevileye

Nope, no mullets.  If there were mullets, at least I'd have a chance of something GOOD being played every once in a while. laughing.gif
