I didn't like this movie, but I think it was more that I didn't like what the movie was about. I think I can appreciate Ray's music more without knowing the story behind it. I felt like to focus was on his problems and not enough on his music, and I hated how I sat for 2 1/2 hours to only see half of his life story. And I didn't like the flashback format it had. I don't know the biography of Ray Charles, but I have a feeling the writer took some liberties...
I think Jamie Foxx did such an awesome job as Ray, and I know Ray appoved of the movie before he died. I do think tho, that it was a propeganda piece, made to make the darkest things in his life not so dark because all was well in the end. When he met his ma and his little brother again, I admit I cried. With the rest of the theater!
