Morning All- I live about 30 minutes south of Nashville. Good thing!! Nashville is floating!! We broke a record for rain. 13" in 48 hours. It more than doubled our prior record. It's gonna get worse before it gets better. Flood stages are higher than they've been since 1937. That was before our dams were in place. Opryland Hotel (one of largest hotels in the country) had to be evacuated last night. I think they had over 5,000 displaced guests!!
Almost all the rivers and tributaries are flooding roads and nearby neighborhoods. I-40, I-65, and I-24 all had closed sections during Saturday and Sunday at one point in the metropolitan area.
Personally, our biggest downer was my friend Cindy who had flown in from Columbus, OH. I had planned on having all of our friends over Saturday night so she could catch up. The Nashville group got stuck on I-65 closure and had to turn around. My friends from KY heard about it and turned around two hours into the trip. It was really sad.
After cooking all day. We ended up having the new neighbors over instead.
The footage I've seen down there is so scary - glad you're doing OK.
Well, that's a good way to get on the new neighbors' side!

Water just keeps rising in Nashville. Unbelievable!! It's overwhelming to think of the devastation and loss. I do need to make a correction, Opryland Hotel only had 1500 guests checked in at the time they evacuated.
