My sister's dance performance was Friday night, so I slept in, then drove up there during the day. Afterwards I took her and her friends to the arcade that has a mini golf course inside. I think her friends like me. At one point, one of her friends was calling home to see how late she could stay out, using me as an excuse to her mom that it was okay to stay out later (since they were with an "adult"). So her mom asked how old I am. When I told her, her boyfriend said, in all seriousness, "You're 28?! I thought you were 21!" I think he mostly thought that because the oldest sibling of any of their friend group is 21, but it still made me feel good.
Then on Saturday I made my mom blueberry crepes for a late Mother's Day breakfast. Then we went to a new yarn store (my mom is a knitting junky [it's kind of funny when she's sitting in the livingroom, knitting, while Ozzy is blaring on the stereo]), an arts festival, and Farmer's Market before I made the drive back home.
Then yesterday I slept all day. I'm sleepy all the time anymore. Perhaps because it's allergy season.
And now it's Monday after having Friday off, so my inbox has exploded. And I have a short week this week as well, I'm leaving for Florida on Friday and will be back on Thursday.
We got some storms last night and more are expected today.
We got the vinyl fascia boards on the shed and the main roof shingled. The wind was terrible Saturday. It's kind of difficult to install one of those spinning turbine vents in 30mph winds.
I only have a tiny bit of nail left on my smashed finger. I cut it back as it was coming loose and now it's just a little bit around the edges that is still attached. It actually feels better now, getting the pressure off it.
I need to go out and spray some weeds, but with the chance of rain and the wind, it looks like that should wait for a better time.
Morning. It is indeed Monday. We have had on anf off rain since Saturday night. All that matters to me is that the holiday weekend is nice. There will be lots of grilling and eating.
Work on.

I know it! I didn't get my sleep in days this weekend because we fumigated the house for spiders & ants on Saturday, and I kept Doodlebug the evening while Maranda went to a wedding, and she had me up at the crack of dawn on Sunday!

Not too much going on with the plans for the weekend. I will be out and about Thursday night. Have a darts thing and then birthday celebrating. Friday will be a sleep in day and final cleaning and prep of the house. Saturday the family will be coming over and we will do the birthday thing by eating and making fun of one another. Yes, we are that strange. Maybe Sunday and Monday there will be time spent sleeping in and probably some time with nature. And of course, more holiday eating.
So if anyone wants to stop by, there will be cake late Saturday afternoon.

We are going to have pork spare ribs, corn on the cob, homemade potato salad, there will be hamburgers (I think that is easier on my nieces), veggies and dip, chips, pickles, maybe some garden salad. Plus, whatever else anyone decides to bring with them.
And the cake will be the standard vanilla poundcake with vanilla icing from the bakery.

Oh yeah, I am not the one who necessatily get picked on. My sisters usually make fun of my mom. Now we will probably spend time busting on my younger sister because she went and did something stupid. But it gets spread around well.

I'm getting the feeling that this week is not going to finish fast enough. Certain people are being petty and snippy on a personal level. For the most part I let these episodes slide and act like it doesn't bother me, but I don't feel like playing that game this go round. I might have to bite back...

Three more nights of work to go and after last night THEY CAN'T GO FAST ENOUGH!
I have a cookout planned for Thursday night with my sister and a few cousins, then we're gonna play an MLB 10 championship series on the PlayStation. Right now that's the only thing keeping me going this week.
My stomach is growling, I think it want's lunch. I best give it what it wants before it turns into a hostage situation.
Good afternoon, all! I'm finally catching a break in today's activities to check in.
Spent the morning mowing yards... yes, plural. Mine, Guz's, part of my other two neighbors' yards too. Hoping they will all be pleased when they get home from work. Guz is back from Kuwait, but he just got back yesterday so I was sure he wouldn't feel like mowing. I even got some ivy planted in my new urn planter that sits where my pine tree used to be. YAY!
The dumpster I requested was delivered this morning, so I got all of the old wood in it from working on the garage. It was bigger than I expected, which was a nice surprise... until the guy came back and swapped it for the smaller one that he should have delivered this morning. Ah well... that which was in there got hauled off.
Fuzzy... that is what my family will be doing this weekend... but we pick on my brother. Always. LOL!
JR... have a Jack & Coke for me too!
Web.. I hope the finger gets better.
DS... have fun with the Doodlebug! They are so cute when they are little.
Mz... being confused for younger than you are is always nice. Enjoy that every time you get the chance. I sure do!
