JR, I've been wondering the same thing. Last year they were using any little excuse at all to raise gas prices, so I thought for sure the oil spill would jack prices up.
I know the holiday weekend caused the price of gas here in MI to go up. Wednesday and Thursday gas was $2.50 a gallon; Friday morning it went to $2.69 and stayed at that price the entire weekend. Today it's back to $2.50. I call that greed by the gas station owners......the price of oil didn't go up, but they know just about everybody in MI heads north on Memorial Day weekend so they want to be sure they make a profit from it.
I thought it odd that the gas prices here didn't go up over the weekend. I don't know why they raise gas prices here for things like that anyway... its not like most of the oil that is produced here actually stays here.
