I have a tendency to throw things. And yell at my computer, after all, it is always delivering me the e-mail that ticks me off. I try to do what I can to control my temper around here. I don't know why I bother because in about three months I will be out of a job anyway. What are they going to do, fire me?

We have a monday morning 8:30 am meeting for my department. Nothing like an hour of sitting around listening to people whine to set the pace for a crappy monday. I got up and walked out after awhile it just got stupid and is a waste of time. Wonder if I will get a talking to??

We are a publicly traded company and the merger agreement was announced mid June. We will not be the surviving company. It needs regulatory and shareholder approval. If that all comes thorugh that is it. Their timetable for the finalization of the deal is late September or early October. Their headquarters is San Jose, CA. They will have their own finance department so they won't need us. It is unkonow how long they may keep us around to transition things. Oh well, what are you going to do? It is just a part of life.

I think people in the meeting, with the exception of the whiners think I was right. We had stopped these meeting awhile ago because they were about 5% work and 95% about just babbling when I was way too busy for that. I can't believe we started them back up.

fuzzy I hope you dont have too much unemployment time! I had to sit on my butt for 11 months in 2001-2002. Did bad to the savings!! Although getting up at 10 am, going for a big & cheap breakfast and then working out was fun- kept me sane as the financial life went into ruin!

Thanks JD. I will be fine. Who can't use an accountant? Especially me. Just kidding. Besides, I can always walk over and get hired by the IRS. Then you will all have to fear me! Not really. I would go work for the corporations division.

I was unemployed probably around the same time.  Too bad we didn't know each other then.


I actually was more of a bum than you - believe it or not.  Slept till 1pm and watched tv all day!!

I think I slept that first week just to get everything out of my system. Even to this day, I only have 2 yrs experience as a tech writer, and its not enough to get hired by a good company. I sort of don't miss that pressure tho- 2nd place isn't too bad after all!
