The overtime club...

It seems like a lot of us have been stuck in the overtime club lately.  Hi JD and Confuzzed if you're still here.   I came back from one day, ONE DAY off, to 88 emails.  I've knocked it down to 28, but it's taken me all day!  I need to learn the art of weaseling, but I just don't have it in me!

hello mz-


Tonight will be the overtime club here for jd too- two straight 13 hr days. I am always worried about taking days off, who knows how bad the pile will be when one returns!??? Sounds like Ray got smacked with work after his vacation too!


My big weasel move is to try and knock out the thinking work early in the day. So that the OT will be easy monotonous no brainer stuff. Yea.,...pay me time and a 1/2 for simple things, not a wasted night of brain work!!

I wish I could weasel this stuff, but no one else knows how to do it. I really got screwed up by spending way too much time (two weeks, not to mention the additional late hours) settling the tax provision for the year. That allowed me to do nothing else. I even took some of this stuff home. And you know after being at work all day it is one of the last things you want to do. Now, the month is over on Saturday, I need to complete all my other work. It should be done by tomorrow, Thursday at the latest because it has to go somewhere else. I will be oaky when this week is over. At least I hope. 11 hours yesterday without stopping for lunch and a late day again is driving me looney. Will you guys please come visit me when they lock me up in the looney bin?

Good. Some company will be nice. Why is it we work so hard, try to please whoever needs it but we still don't get to far?


What does a person need to do in order to win the big lottery? Other buy a ticket with the correct numbers.

The big joke around here is that we get multiple agreements on the days I am out of the office, even when it is for a work related thing!  We usually get one agreement a week, but last week we got 6!  I only got 1 when I was out yesterday, but this week is definately overtime club for me!  At least I get a break on Thursday, I get a pedicure after work!

the little things matter on weeks like these- pedicure, I know I have 1 bottle of ice cold beer waiting for me when I get home- if I am not too tired to lift it to my lips!


Don't get tooo down fuzzy! One thing that I have noticed is that earning the big bucks and big titles takes all the effort and energy in the world to maintain. The bigger the pay day, the more *!*&$ you got to eat. THe more a  pain in the *$&  the work is.


I been rich, I been poor, I been up, I been down. Fair to middlin' is a nice place to be!

I was going to have chicken, but you know I forgot to take it out of the freezer.   I hate when that happens. But I wasn't to thrilled to be eating steak and a baked potato at 8:30 last night. Screw it. Maybe tomorrow. Or not. Although, the steak was all pretty when it came off the grill and it was good going down. I did have peanutbutter and crackers around 5:30 tonight for a dinner kind of thing, but I ran out of peanutbutter. I hate when that happens too. It just has been that kind of day. Know what I mean?

I think you need a real meal. There is nothing good in my desk drawer to eat. I am down to two cans of soup and a thing of microwave popcorn. I guess I need to do some shopping.

I love grilling out! Would;ve LOVED steak and potatoes last night! I think tonight it will be a PB sammich and an ice cold leinenkugals and some celery sticks when I get home!! (I need to shop too!) This ot stuff gets in the way of things like food and sleep and shopping and fun and grilling out and stuff......

Well, I told you that if you were here I would have made you dinner too. I don't mind cooking for more than one person. You would have enjoyed it. It is kind of hard to grill in the dark though. Some day we will all be rich and able to grill whenever we want - even in the middle of the winter. Okay, so maybe not your winter. Unless you leave all the snow behind.

you don't get hit that bad in winter? a few times at the studio riggs and I dig burgers on sunday before my shows when it was snowing. True grilling means weather is NOT a factor!!
