Thank god for our goalie. And England's goalie. ;) Sorry Ultimo. If it weren't for that though, we wouldn't have been able to make the draw.

I didn't get to see the game. cry.gif

Today's forecast was supposed to be a 40% chance of isolated thunderstorms, so I thought it would be a good day to get at trailer from Uhaul to take all of the stuff from the house repairs to the city dump. Turns out "40% chance of isolated thunderstorms" acutally translates to 100% chance of a monsoon-like torrential downpour from the moment we left the Uhaul lot until we got back with the trailer. None the less, we got it done.

As circumstances had it, we were not the only folks with the bright idea to go to the solid waste transfer station today with a trailer load of construction waste. There was another guy there by himself unloading a bunch of stuff from his trailer. Since we were already soaked, we decided to pitch in and help him.... nice guy. Anyhoo... got in the truck to head home cracking jokes about how soaked we both were. It was all good fun until we got back in the truck to take the trailer back to Uhaul... Kev discovered that it is in fact possible to saturate a leather vehicle seat. Alas, he also got to enjoy my amusement at the giant wet spot on his butt as we ran our further errands. Guess next time he will decide that wearing the rain gear is a good idea... my seat was nice and dry. laughing.gif

Would you believe that I missed the first 5 minutes of the game and couldn't believe that when I turned it on the US was losing. But thanks to that gift goal, the US was able to earn a draw. At times the US was dominating. They just didn't have great opportunities to finish. Now they will set their sight on getting two wins in the group.

Go USA!

Friday at 10am. Seems like such a long time before the next US game.

To his credit, he did have a hold of it. Until he dropped it, and it rolled lazily into the goal.

Sorry, it's so easy to pick on you for that.  But admittedly, I do think England played better.  That ball was on our side of the field a lot more than I was comfortable with.

We were pretty awful to be honest, we had a few decent moments but we will improve I am sure... well we better! smile

As a goalkeeper, you have no idea how much giving up a goal like that hurts. no.gif Had he been another 5 yards out into the box, he would have been able to recover. Bummer to be him. Luckt for the US.

I did thank Green for the goal though. nod.gif
