OK, I'm pissed! First, I didn't get to get all of my mailings out today because the person who is responsible for getting the packets together didn't get the packets I needed done. Then, she put the packets I didn't need in the mail tub that I brought to take all the mail I had today in. And just now, I got a call from the spa, and I don't get my pedicure because the new manager won't let the manicurist do it for free (even though it's after hours and the manicurist's gift to me). And my husband is working major overtime tonight because the apartment they were supposed to turn around today was totally trashed and it's going to take them extra time to get it done. They are even buying him pizza. So, now I'm all stressed and tense, don't get to see my husband tonight, don't get to eat supper with him, and I've had my nice relaxing gift taken away from me.
I'm taking's CP's route tonight, now I have to decide on rum, kalua, buttershots, or wine...
I am sorry that you are having a bad day, but yikes, am I really that bad? I only go on binges, I swear. When I am really stressed I'll do shots, but go months without touching the stuff again. Forget the wine--Kaluha is only good when mixed with Vodka, Baileys, and a dash of amaretto, served with a dash of half and half and over ice.
I'm still seething. I am so glad I left that place. I deal with enough stress during the day, and not I realize how much extra stress working at the spa caused. I did so much for them, and now they won't even give me a pedicure. The manicurist works on commission, and it would be after the hours any of the manicurists work anyway, so all they would be out is some supplies. And I've saved them so much money that I feel they owe me that much. I redesigned their website and added online ordering capabilities for $8 an hour! Try to find a web designer that'll work for $8 an hour! I redesigned their menus for $8 an hour, and found them better pricing than the printer they were using. And the reason I got them better pricing is because I was able to provide a print ready file. For $8 an hour. And I offer their employees custom designed business cards at outrageously cheap prices. I can get them as little as 250 business cards for only $40, including my designers fees, or as many as 5000 cards for $100. And they can't even give me a pedicure. And I didn't even ask for it, it was offered to me.
Queen Molly, you did it because that is the kind of person you are. You care about what you do and give your best. You could have made a dollar an hour and still would have made things better. That is just who you are.
Dylan is right, the fact that you are unappreciated should not change how well you do your job. My company is putting me through hell right now, but I still give them everything I've got. Personal pride in my work. You are the same.
CP, my point was that you've drank here recently to de-stress, and that's what I'm doing. My first drink is rum and Sunny D, because they were the first two things I pulled out.
So, I said I'd still work on their website. But now that they're not giving me any discounts or perks, why should I give them any? Why should I charge them only $8 an hour to update their website? And, what if they don't want me to update it? What if they attempt to hire someone else to do it, and that person can't be very good to work for what they pay, and that person screws my design all up? What legal rights do I have to that site? Can I make them buy the copyright from me?
Yes, I did it because I'm super nice, sometimes so nice that I end of screwing myself. The only reason I kept it as a second job was because I was being nice. But they stopped being nice to me, and they've broke their promises to me and other employees there. That's one of the reasons I decided that I didn't need the second job any more.
Basically, no more MzNiceHartz. Not to these guys anyway. (OK, I'll still offer the business cards super cheap because thats for the employees who have always done me well.)
maybe you can slip over to the apt. your husband is working at and share a slice with him , 'least ya can say hi face to face . as for the spa - matches for sale.....
MZ, I truly don't think you have it in you to not be nice, and I mean that as a true compliment. My Sicillian mother taught me to never burn a bridge, because you never know when your pathway may need to cross it again.
Hubby just stopped by, so I got to see him for a second. He already ate, and I can't stop by that apartment because there are 4 guys working on it and I would definately be in the way. Apparently it was in really bad, replace everything, type condition. They took all morning just cleaning out trash and stuff left behind.
I know, it's hard for me not to be nice. But there really are no bridges left to burn. The management changed right before I left, and I never liked them, and they never liked me. They are screwing the owner out of her money, and she just doesn't see it. But, all of my generosity has been for her.
So, the FFR is turned up, I've finished one large drink already, and now I'm hungry. I'm thinking greasy Chinese. And then when I get back home, I'll have a drink that I made up with milk and Kahlua and buttershots.
