I took the car in for an oil change before work this morning. I feel terrible, the light came on while we were on our way to Chicago a month ago, and I'm supposed to get the oil changed within 100 miles of that light coming on. Chicago is over 200 miles away, but there was no way I was paying for an oil change in Chicago. And then I waited way too long once we got back.
I also need a new battery and wiper blades. They would've got those and installed them for me there... for $140! I don't think so! So I'll head over to AutoZone later today, for the battery at least, I knew I was way overdue on that.
Hey everybody. Night Ranger tonight. I'm not getting FFR - not broadcasting today, I presume?

JR reformatted the station computer, I don't think he's gotten the station stuff loaded back up again.
It's the last day of summer daycare for the boy. I'll stay home with him tomorrow so he can have a "chill day" then he starts his first day of 4th grade on Thursday.
It rained good here last night. My gauge here at the office had 2.10" in it.
Good day, all. It has been a busy morning already. Cooler and raining here which is a nice change of pace... presently it is 70*. As another bonus, I get to spend today doing stuff that would be classified as "my job" as opposed to doing other people's jobs for them. That is always an improvement in a day for me.
Hope everyone has a great day.

Good morning. It's raining in the Tulsa metro -- not big rain.
My kids start school on Friday. My stomach has been in knots for the past week and my nerves are shot because we still have another month to go before we have the parent appointment to find out the diagnosis for Isaac. Meanwhile, we sit and wait for his next "lunar episode". His last episode was last week, so we might be clear for the full moon; or maybe we'll be double whammied this month. The simplest way to describe it so anyone can undestand -- the mood is like is living with someone with severe pms (excluding the bloating and cramps). We'll get through it. It's just the waiting for a game plan that's aggrivating.

You should fear anything that can bleed for seven days without dying... (as told to Mr. DS on 3-12-10)
I was at home, minding my own business, finishing up my lunch, when a Victoria's Secret commercial comes TV on about a new bra that's supposed to be better than all others before it.
During the whole commercial I'm thinking "Oh, come on . . . are there really revolutions still to be made in bra technology?"
Ignoring the fact that I'm thinking of marketing gimmicks during a Victoria Secret commercial, I ask you ladies . . . in 2010, are there really revolutions still to be made in bra technology? Is there really much that can be changed and improved upon, that someone hasn't already done by now?

YES! And I'll tell you right now, Victoria Secret ain't doing it. They're all about looks, but where advancements need to be made are in comfort.
Bras aren't really "comfortable" per se. They might be more comfortable than going without, but it's really picking the lesser of two evils. Until there's an anti-gravity field put into a bra, there's improvements to be made.
I suspect that the anti-gravity device will solve one issue, but then some kind of super-comfortable backpack will have to be made to carry the power packs required.
Bras suck. It can be hard to find consistency between brands. I'd maybe go to duct tape to hold the girls up, but duct tape doesn't come off so nicely, cleanly or painlessly. And why is it that you can never find the cool colors in your size?

Stop trying to be what you see. Be what you ought to be.
Oh yeah, I'm lucky to find a pretty bra. But I do agree with DS, I'd rather wear something ugly than uncomfortable. Although many days I feel like I'm doing both.
Yeah, I assumed that there are needs for improvement, especially in comfort, but what I was wondering if realistically do you still have hopes that the perfect bra will one day be available. I've seen commercials for years from different companies wanting you to think they found the secret, but yet it doesn't sound like they really have.
That just got me thinking that if no one has figured it out yet with today's technology, I wonder if it's even possible.
It sounds like you've not given up hope yet. That hope must be what the commercials are trying to play off of.
If JR was awake, I'm sure he'd say the only reason the "Perfect Bra" hasn't been invented yet is only because Steve Jobs isn't on the task. Once Apple makes the iBra, the problem will be solved.
Realistically, I do think that the anti gravity thing will actually be available someday.
But improvements anytime soon, I think so. They may have already happened, I've seen some really expensive bras that I've never invested in. I always think there's got to be something in there to help.
For example, underwires poke out less now. They're not always wire either. That's a pretty recent improvement. Moisture wicking fabrics are also pretty recent. I'm seeing more and more "wicking" technology in tshirts and polo shirts that I sell at work, and I think we'll start seeing them in bras soon. I'm also starting to see (why didn't they do this earlier, duh!?) bras of the same line made a little differently based on size, like the A cups having more under lift and the D cups having more side support. I don't know why more clothes aren't made that way. The "no more back fat" bras are pretty new too.
I'll stop there, but really, there are still improvements being made. I can say that the bras I currently wear are a lot more comfortable than the ones I wore just out of high school.

I'd buy an iBra. I'd wait until it's been out for a year though. I wouldn't want my bra to lose a signal because I was holding it wrong.
I'm sure that some improvements can be made, I just haven't put a lot of thought into them. I can tell you that I despise bra shopping. And it is not only Victoria's Secret that is pimping some wonderful new line of bras... I got an ad from Macy's a few days ago that is all about the new super amazing bras that they are selling. I have yet to go check them out, but I'm sure someday I will.
Before I'd buy the iBra I would want to see which applications it comes with. For instance, does it have an application to prevent the "accidental" brush by the skeezy co-workers? Is there an application to blind the jerk who stares too long? Does it have a climate control application? Aside from that, how long would I have to stand in line to get an iBra? Is it only wearable with certain clothes or can you wear it with anything?

Don't you wish they could look up your bra in a book, like they do for car tires or batteries? Plop 'em on the counter, "I'd like a bra for these." "Year, make, and model?"
I will never give up hope in the building a better bra category. Which reminds me--- Web, you're good with tools- you should build one for us.
