The only thing better than Fridays are payday Fridays. Unless you are independently wealthy, then everyday should feel like a Friday, or better yet ...Saturday
So as good as it feels to get to the end of a long work week and survived...you guessed it, Saturdays are even better...we get the WHOLE day.
I am off today and tonight but get the priviledge of working tomorrow night...
Hope everyone has an easy last day of their work weeks and a good start to their week end.
Hi all! Sorry I haven't been around lately, but I've been super busy cleaning things out. Last week I cleaned the basement, garage, and shed. This week it was cupboards, drawers, and closets; and I helped both girls de-tox their bedrooms. The trashmen hate me right now, but I'm all done now.
I'm getting ready to head out to the Farmers' Market in about another hour when it opens. There is nothing like farm-fresh vegetables and fruit this time of year. I've practically become a vegetarian the past few weeks, ha!
Anyway...
I just wanted to drop in and say hi to everyone! Hope you all have a great day and enjoy the weekend!!
My husband hates vegetarian meals....he's a meat and potatoes guy, but while everything is in season I have to have it.
How's the weather across the lake today? It's cloudy here right now; supposed to hit 89 today. We got hit with a fast moving storm late yesterday afternoon that spawned a tornado very near to me.....half a mile away. Luckily, it only took some trees down, no damage was done to any homes.
Oh yeah, I love those too. I didn't get any of those this year....every time I went to the market to buy some they were gone. Now it's too late for them. Spinach too.....love fresh spinach leaves in salads or even cooked. I'm the only one that eats it though....no one else in my family likes it. That's ok; more for me!
Ghost, have you ever looked into getting a farm share? It's where you get a portion of veggies from a farm every week during growing season. I love mine, but sometimes I don't eat it all before it goes bad. It makes me sad.
Morning all. It is indeed Friday. It may or may not be payday. I'm not sure. I am going to try and make this a funky Friday. I am on vacation next week and am looking forward to the end of the work day.
Ghost - you are more than welcome to come over to my house and white tornado it. I have plans to do a little work in the basement next week. Things aren't too bad. One person really can't make all that much of a mess. Maybe you can help me pick out a color to paint the downstairs.
Funk on!

Wow, Ghost! You've been bee busy! I think I need a nap just thinking about all that work you've done
First day of school today for our kids. Not a good start this morning. Mr. DS and Jacob had words and I get to be the whipping post... I'm not looking forward to the weekend.
Now, at work, I have a layoff payroll to do for a job wrapping up in Houston. The NEEDY ONE is the supervisor, and I really don't feel like dealing with his nonesense. I asked him to mail me the first check number along with his time sheets and he said, "No, I will call you." "Seriously," I asked, "that's a little time consuming, don't you think?" *big, big sigh*
Smiles everyone! Smiles!

You should fear anything that can bleed for seven days without dying... (as told to Mr. DS on 3-12-10)
Good day, all. I'm so very glad it is Friday. Very tired this morning as I got called out at about 11PM last night and I worked until 2:30AM.
So, being the rocket scientist I am... I got up at 7AM, got me together a bit and went to the DMV to tag all 3 of my vehicles for the year. Simple enough, right? Straight up renewal. The only "twist" to the scenario is that I get 2 different renewal notices from the state. One has the Excursion and the Harley on it and the other has the Explorer on it. They come separately because mine is the only name on the titles for the Excursion and the Harley. My name and the wuzband's name are on the title for the Explorer. Still, I had all of the paper work, my ID, and the insurance cards for all 3. Should be a simple transaction. The lady had to "try to figure out" how to renew all 3 at the same time. I didn't say a word about her consternation at this "issue". Just patiently waited.
She finally got it sorted out, and gave me the combined total for all 3 renewals. I had already done the math and wrote the check before I even left my house... handed it over promptly. My DL# and phone number were already written on the check. She looks at it and frowns... then asks for my phone number. I stated "It is written on the check, right under my pre-printed name and address." She looks at it again, frowns, and informs me that she is going to have to write the "used" amount on the bottom of my check "because I can't read your 7". (the dollar amount was $344.47) So I ask, "Which one?". She says "both of them" and points to the 7 on the dollar amound and the one in my phone number. Apparently the dysfunction she has with reading my hand written 7 is that I draw a little line across the downward portion of the 7 so you can clearly identify that it is not a 1. She further explains, "A lot of people write their 7's like that, but I can't read it." Really?!? She didn't even comment on the slash through the zero. I wonder if she can read that? Is it just me?

Gotta love the DMV . . . I believe that will be the future of our health care system once the government takes that over too.
Mrs Web took the day off. When the boy gets out of school, we're headed off go find the kid some school clothes. Not sure which city we're going to yet.
I was just stunned that she said "I can't read your 7's" with a completely straight face when obviously she could. I never spoke my phone number, but she picked the 7 out of it with utterly no issue. Then she goes on to admit that "a lot of people" write 7's that way... but still claims to not be able to read it. I was standing there fighting off the urge to ask what she sees when someone writes a 7 like that... does it appear to be Wingdings font? Hysterical blindness? Does she see a spider instead of a 7? What?
I wonder if she has issues with the fact that I tend to write T's and s's in print, but the rest of the word in cursive?
I need more sleep.
