Sunday night I was so tired, I fell asleep on the couch and went to bed early (although, with the fan off and windows closed, I had trouble getting to sleep because it was too quiet [hey, it makes sense to me]). I figured it was because I had a busy weekend, had stayed up late the night before, then went to brunch that morning.
Last night, I was so tired, I fell asleep on the couch and went to bed early (and fell asleep this time). I did not want to get up this morning.
Good morning all. It's raining and on the cool side here. For this being September, it seems more like November with all the dark gray cloudy days we've had this month.
Mz, I can't sleep when it's too quiet either. The worst sleep I ever get is when we're up at the cabin. I'm used to hearing cars going down our street here at home all night, but up there there isn't any night traffic. I have to sleep with a fan on just for the noise.
I've been fighting issues with a couple servers since Saturday. Yesterday the developer of the software that was causing the issues posted a couple updates. Since the final updates, everything has been solid. Maybe I can relax and quit watching them quite so closely now.
I was hoping the Packers would pull out a win last night. It was close, but not quite enough.
For me, I just have to sleep with the "right" noises. Now that I know what the household noises should be during the night, I'll be fine. But Sunday as I went to sleep, I didn't expect to hear the clock that has an earth-shattering tick, or that the toilet in the bathroom keeps running (which has since been fixed).
I sleep best with total silence. It takes me longer to get to sleep, but I can sleep with some noise . . . except a ticking clock. There's something about it that will drive me insane when trying to sleep. I supposed it is just what you get used to.
Good day, all. Nope... can't sleep to silence very well. Every little noise wakes me. I generally leave the TV on all night so I don't hear the house noises, trains, cars, barking dogs...
Back in the office today. I have a training class in about a half an hour. Will have to ditch out of that in the middle for a while to go have the rest of my annual round of medical assessments. YIPPEE! It's smash-o-gram day. Should make for an exciting and interesting rest of the day.
Otherwise not too much going on. Got the Excursion out of the shop (again) this morning. There goes another $750 on that. Spent a whole $10 yesterday fixing my kid's truck... he was missing a caliper bolt. About 2/3 of the south wall of my house has new siding on it... the rest to come later this week.
Hey Web... when I fell asleep last night the Packers were still winning. I was bummed when I woke up this morning to hear they had lost.

That which does not kill me postpones the inevitable.
When I lived at home, my parents had a cuckoo clock in the dining room. That stupid clock used to drive me nuts at night with its dang cuckooing every hour. After my mom died my dad asked if I wanted it. I told him yeah, for firewood.
A few months ago our alarm clock went bad so I bought a new one. Just a small plug-in clock. That night my husband went to bed but came back out a few hours later. He said there was too much light in the bedroom and he couldn't sleep. Our old clock was lit with red for the numbers, the new one was blue and much brighter. I liked it, I could actually see in the dark, but he hated it. That clock is now downstairs in the basement; he bought a red one for the bedroom.
It must be catchy. My body was tired, but my brain wouldn't let me fall asleep until it was about time to get up... I think about the only thing that really really gets on my nerves is the sound of tree frogs in the heat of the summer -- they're so LOUD...
Looks like I'll be sorta busy this week. The SHE BOSS is on vacation for the next couple weeks so I have payroll duty. That took most of the day yesterday because some people are slack about getting their time in. I have some paperwork THE MAN wants me to translate. Seriously, just because my maiden name is Spanish doesn't necessarily mean I can speak the language. Thank goodness for online translation. Then of course, we're nearing the end of another month and quarter -- JOY...
Everyone have a great day...

Morning. More rainy weather for us. I don't mind. We need it badly. It isn't heavy rain though so I don't know that it is really helping out.
Well, I guess it is good to know that I am not the only one having trouble getting to sleep or sleeping this week. I am not sure what is causing mine yet. I hope I am not getting into a cycle. Sometimes I'll do that for a couple of weeks. But I think it has been quite some time since I went through a not sleeping well stage. I definitely sleep better with quiet.
Congrats to my Phillies. Last night they locked up the NL East title and guaranteed that the road to the baseball championship this year goes through Philadelphia.
I am sure that JR and Dylan are not happy with last night's game. I didn't really get to watch much until after the baseball game and then in between commercial breaks and after "Castle" was completed. It seems the Packers were sloppy and shot themselves in the foot with penalties.
I guess we'll be napping later. For now let's beverage.

And I forgot. I had one of those alarm clocks with the blue display. I agree - it was too bright. I put it into the guest room and got the same one but with the red display.

Gideon Emery's going to be on an upcoming episode of Castle. As "Lloyd Saunders", supposed to air on the 25th.
