International Top Spinning Wednesday

Good day, all! Happy International Top Spinning Day! Additionally, it is the birthday of the US Navy, so if you know any sailors please wish them Happy Birthday.

It is sunny and cooler here today, looking for a high around 68* today. Not complaining... I'm happy it is not cold yet.

Looks like it is going to be yet another ridiculous morning of meetins for me. At least they are back to back instead of on top of each other today. YAY me.

Hope everybody has a great day.

Oh yeah... and one more thing... How great is it that the Chilean miners are finally being rescued? I had the news on all night last night and woke up to the hooting and hollering when that first miner was brought out. As horrible as it was that they were trapped for so long, it has to make one feel pretty good about humanity the way so many countries sent help to get them out, then stepped back to let those people have their moment. It was a great start to the day seeing those guys getting out!

Good day all.

The good news is that my throat no longer hurts. It did during the night and woke me up a few times, but by time my alarm went off in the morning, the pain was gone.

The bad news is if I typed like I talked right now, it would look like this.  My voice isn't totally gone, but I think people think I'm whispering.

10:00am school start today so I'm just getting in the office.

Glad you are feeling better, Mz.

Yeah, that is cool that the miners are coming up. I'm happy for them that they didn't have to wait until the end of the year as was first predicted. I'd think that waiting these last few hours for your turn to go up would be the longest wait of the time being down there.

We've been dealing with dishwasher troubles. For the last few weeks our dish washer hasn't been cleaning worth a darn. The dishes come out with what looks like dissolved soap deposits stuck on them. Dark things look like the have a dried film on them. We were planning to have the repair man come take a look at it and see if a pump or something like that has quit. Mrs Web mentioned it to a coworker yesterday and she said that she had been having the exact same trouble so she went to the internet. It turns out that the government made the soap companies take out a kind of phosphate that they almost all used. LOTS of people are complaining about the same issues that we are having now, and it seems to be worse with Cascade's soaps. Sooooooooooo . . . if you notice your dishes are not coming out clean, it looks like it's the soaps and not your machine. The coworker thinks she has some new dishes ruined because she can't get those deposits and films off her stuff now.

Hump day on.

Huh.  I never would have expected that.  I haven't noticed a difference in mine, so maybe we use one of the soaps that didn't have that kind of phosphate.  We use Finish.

I agree about the miners.  It's nice to have some good news.  I'm so happy for them!

Hello, darlings.

Happy birthday US Navy!  Hmmm... Hug a Sailor Day!

It is wonderful news about the miners!  Things like that make me all choked up.  I couldn't imagine what the miners and their families have gone through for the past couple months.

My "mood" has seemed to pass, but I was up on and off all night with the stomach virus Isaac had last week.  Me so sleepy  yawn

Hey, thanks for the heads up on the dishwasher soaps Web.  We use Finish too, and we haven't seen any problems.

I was watching those miners being pulled out while I was at work last night.  Truly an amazing story.  I was shocked how good the first couple of them looked.

Got kind of sick of the news station droning on and on about what the future problems they might face were though.  They spent the entire hour I was watching talking to experts on various mental and medical issues they were likely to face.

Can't we just enjoy the moment for once?  no.gif

I use Finish too and have no problems.  Looks like you need to switch to Finish Webster!

Hmmm. I use Cascade, but haven't bought a new bottle in a long time. I bought my last one at Costco. I only run the diswasher once a week. And I have white dishes. I haven't noticed anything on the glasses though. Maybe because I use the liquid stuff (Jet Dry, which I believe was bought and is now known as Finish) you refill every three or four months. I also haven't bought a bottle of that in a long time either.

I use the Finish tablets... No issues yet but I'm still using some I bought from Costco a while back. Probably old formula.

Hm, in Finish vs. Cascade, I think Finish wins.

If one more person tells me how to treat my throat or get my voice back (especially if it's the Etch, again), I'm going to scream.

Okay, it might come out as a squeak.

The funny part is that my one cat is hoarse too. She sounds so pitiful when she tries to meow. And this isn't the cat that I think has seasonal allergies.

Mrs Web went to the store and got some Finish last night to try. We ran a load and it looks better, but I can't tell for sure what is new residue and what is old that isn't coming off. hmm.gif

It is a great excuse for Mrs Web to ask for new dishes.

My Finish is probably four to six months old too. I bought a 100 capsule container at Sam's and only started using it a month or so ago. I too only run the dishwasher once a week so that's a two year supply for me.

The same when I buy trash bags. If there are 200 in the box, I am easily good for 2 years.

Man, I produce a LOT of trash for a single guy. I bet I throw out five bags a week on average.

Three from the kitchen and then two of other junk.

How in the world do you do that? Do you throw a party twice a week? Because I can recycle so much stuff, I barely have any other trash to put out. I average one bag a week and it is not full. I have trash pickup twice a week and most of the time do not have anything worth putting to the curb for the second night.
