Tropical Storm Katrina is off the east coast of Florida. It may make hurricane status before land fall, which may be Friday.

Star, what's the word in Miami? The way Katrina's tracking it looks like it could be close to you. I also heard 6"-12" of rain is possible with this. Be safe my friend!!

I agree.  They say this is going to spread all the way across lower Florida. Miami, Vero Beach, Seven Mile Bridge, Orlando, Be safe and keep us updated.

It is suppose to be coming in around 4pm.  And has a 45% chance to reach category one.  and should last 72 hours.  I'm not too scared.  I wish I was off today like the public schools.  Thanks for the thoughts!

I can't believe that you have to work! Will they send you home early???


 


We shut down everything here once a storm even comes near us! Hugo was so bad though, hard to keep the bad memories away!

Man, they never close anything down in Indiana. I've driven to work in a snowstorm, and was even forced to stay at my desk at my old job when a tornado passed through a neighboring town. So Star, I feel for ya.

Fuzzy, you silly gal! They don't have many basements in Florida. Besides, the basement would flood with 12" of rain a possibility.

Stay safe, Star. Man, I feel like the world's biggest idiot. I heard on a news bit about Katrina and the Waves and how appropriate it was or something like that and all I could think was "What did Katrina of Katrina and the Waves DO?" Now I know they were talking about a hurricane. All I can say is...blonde moment.
