Tuesday is such an unexciting day

Good day all.

I didn't get a single word written yesterday.  I'm so far ahead, it's not that big of a deal, but it's the first day so far this year that I've missed.

This morning I was woken up by a cat running over my face.  Fortunately for the cat, I don't know which one it was.

Luckily, the Etch is out sick today.  So hopefully I can cheer up a bit.

Good day, all. So I get here to the office to await the "all clear" to start working on the new gear at one of the sites today... the one I'm supposed to be cutting into traffic tonight... but no. no.gif More problems last night at the site so the schedule slips again. Perhaps tomorrow. blankstare.gif I had entertained the thought of taking Thursday off, but looks like that won't be happening so much either.

I'm thinking that waking up to being part of the feline speedway is a rough start to the day. Hope yours gets better, Mz.

Ah well... Tuesday on everyone.

Morning all. We have that foggy, drizzling thing going on. Apparently the heavier rain is supposed to move into the area later.

Somehow I have been distracted by the wants for the boss. He asked some questions late yesterday and answered them before I went home. I come in this morning to find he wants more. My question: why can't he do this himself? In addition, I now have no idea of how to get him what he wants. So I have been wasting my time trying to figure it out. Stupid foreign revenue. Whose brilliant idea was it to win a contract that includes minimum foreign revenue in a system that can't handle foreign revenue? And it is subcontracted, so that is the real pain.

Where is DS? I need her to help me with this billing mess.

OH! I just remembered something I was going to mention today . . .

I bought a new album last night, burned it to a CD and was listening to it in the van this morning. As one of the songs was ending, I noticed how odd the ending sounded. Then I started thinking about it to figure out why it sounded so odd.

The ending was the slow fade out thing that USED to be so normal with music. You know . . . where the song is still going strong, but the volume sloooooooooooowly fades down like the song is going on forever, but we're just moving on to the next one.

That got me thinking about how normal that slow fade out thing used to be, and how songs now (at least in most of what I listen to) clearly end. Yeah, songs still fade out, but it's usually just the last note or effect, not like it used to be where the song keeps going but the total volume fades. As anyone else noticed this change? I went back and listened to the ending of each song on this new album and only that one song had the slow fade out. All the rest have a clear ending.

It used to be so normal for the fade out thing, but now it sounds strange to me.

Or, maybe I'm just drunk.

I never really noticed the change, but now that you mention it that does seem to be the case.

Of course you know, Web could be drunk. That might explain the stylish greeting this morning. giggle.gif

While we know that isn't true, it could be fun.

Come on girls, let's get Web to drink with us.

I remember one time at tech college when I was drinking and having what seemed like a good time . . . a girl I knew in passing came up to me and said "We need to get you to drink more often, I didn't even know you knew how to talk!"

Then our work here has been done.

We all know that alcohol can relax a quiet, shy guy and allow him to be a little more free.
