Well, it looks like it's our turn to feel Katrina's wrath today, though it's no where near as bad as the south got it. We've just got a lot of rain and wind, but we've had worse. The lights have only flickered once. Maybe they'll go off at work but stay on at home... (I know, keep dreaming...) How about you, Ray? It looks like we're not getting as hard as TN right now, though. How's it going down there Anf?

We are due to get it tonight into tomorrow morning. I know it will be nothing compared to anything. Then it will clear out just in time for a perfect holiday weekend. We always seem to get hit harder with those that come straight up the East coast.

Lot of rain here that's all. My college kid called. She's mad she can't find a parking space and it's raining and she doesn't have an umbrella. Too bad. It was raining when she left home. We have plenty of umbrellas, college kid was in too big a hurry. I told her she's got to figure stuff out for herself. She's 18, shouldn't have to be told to take an umbrella. Little whiner.

what gets me is in winter- these freezing college genius's at the bus stop in just a sweatshirt and no hat because a hat would mess up their hair and winter coats don't look "cool"! LOL

I never went that far. I always bundled up. The umbrella was a different story for a couple of years. Then I wised up and did the right thing. Stay dry!

I've always been more of a leather jacket and hat person (more of an outback style hat), even in high school. I was one of the kids that got mad when I couldn't bring my jacket into class. Right now my jacket and hat don't match. I need to get a duster to match the hat...

Darn, I almost got my wish. The power went out at work for about 45 minutes, and during my lunch! But the lights at home have been on the whole time. But, obviously since I'm posting, the power is back on at work. Bummer.

See why I prefer the earthquakes.  There is no anticipation, it is over in seconds, despite their devestation, but we don't get battered for hours.

   a short handled umrella with a metal tip on it has more than one use . ( years ago in the phillipines , I saw a guy get the side of his face cut wide open by a very angry -(how to put it ?)- lady of the evening .
